      <title>1949 Mercury Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/mercury/other/1949/listing/248465</link>
<description>1949 Mercury custom four door sedan. It has a fresh Ford 302 cubic inch small block V8 with an automatic transmission. It has less than 500 miles on about 98% completed full restoration. Not everything is know about the vehicle due to the passing of the builder prior to the cars full completion. It began as a solid California shell with only surface rust on the exterior. Thousands of hours labor and significant expense has been invested to bring this Mercury to its current excellent condition. It is the four door model with the rear doors facing the suicide configuration. The paint is a very striking burnt orange metallic, maybe pearl, (only one flaw, a small crack in the paint) with an exceptional interior finished in orange tweed and pewter velour that compliments the exterior perfectly. It has a 1950 Mercury dash, the engine has multiple chrome and polished aluminum accessories and runs very well. The are a number of extra parts that go with the cars such as powder coated bumpers, fender skirts and cloth materials to do the last details to complete it. It runs well, looks exceptional and it an excellent and solid example of a “lead sled”. Excellent condition Please Note The Following **Vehicle Location is at our clients home and Not In Cadillac, Michigan. **We do have a showroom with about 25 cars that is by appointment only **Please Call First and talk to one of our reps at 231-468-2809 EXT 1 ** FREE Consignment Visit Our Site Today Easy To List Your Vehicle and Get it Sold in Record Time.</description>

<description>1940 Mercury Club Coupe – Flathead V8, Rare Second-Year Mercury 1940 Mercury Club Coupe, a very solid and largely original example of Mercury’s second year of production. Only 15,072 Club Coupes were built, making this a scarce and desirable prewar Mercury. The Mercury line was personally introduced by Edsel Ford, positioned between Ford and Lincoln as a more upscale offering. Powered by a newer flathead V8 paired with a 3-speed manual transmission, the car runs and drives, currently operating from a gas can, indicating the fuel system will need attention before regular road use. The drivetrain performs well and provides the authentic flathead driving experience these cars are known for. This Club Coupe has received numerous new parts, including updated wiring, new running boards, new tires, and other mechanical and cosmetic updates that add to its reliability and presentation. The body is described as super solid, an important factor for prewar vehicles. The car shows 83,206 miles and is offered as Stock #25818. A great opportunity to own a rare and historically significant Mercury that’s an excellent candidate for continued restoration, preservation, or light recommissioning. <description>1947 Mercury Series 79M Coupe

For consignment, a 1947 Mercury Series 79M coupe showing 17,227 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This street rodded version of a once compact car now emits big energy with a V8 under the hood and dual exhaust emerging out back.

  Exterior
Regardless of what's under the hood, Mercury's designers in this era clearly got things right with a recognizable form that includes an enormous chrome bumper in front of a grille more akin to whale baleens than any of the ornate configurations of the time, and as a result, its unique and attractive. From the side, the trim almost appears as racing stripes with double side molding tracking over the fenders and a spear that helps define the shoulder line. The tail end is a handsome one with horizontal trim that meets rectangular tail lights, another big bumper, and dual oval exhaust with chrome tips underneath. This car hunkers down over 15-inch polished American Racing Torque Thrust wheels and staggered size tires. Imperfections include scratches, bubbles, chipped paint, and water marks on the wheels.

  Interior
Saddle leather door panels are handsomely designed with polished trim and tight weave carpeted lowers and are immediately inviting, so much so, we almost missed the electric window switches. Saddle also covers the bucket seats and the driver's shows some love with compression and some hanging edges underneath. The back is tight and clean with some wear on the passenger side. A Flaming River steering wheel, tan with burlwood accenting and on a polished column, fronts an original dash that combines black and white with gold faced and offset instrumentation, including a clock on the right. Additional in the center include an AM/FM/CD/AUX/USB radio over a Vintage Air unit and gold rimmed temp gauge. A wood topped center console has been added and the ever important cup holders are included, sandwiched between clean camel carpet and intact headliner.

  Drivetrain
Some polished and chromed components dress up the 350ci V8 under the hood, topped with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and mated to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the 10 bolt rear. The car runs on a 12 volt system and has power steering and power brakes.

  Undercarriage
Clean underneath with minimal surface rust, a few drops of oil about, and clear knuckles. The chrome flywheel and differential covers are a nice touch and the dual exhaust flows through Turbo mufflers before finding its way to stainless tips out back. Brakes are split between power disc in front and power drums in back and suspension has been upgraded to a Mustang II front end while retaining leaf springs in the back.

  Drive-Ability
We go from 1947 to sometime later with this updated interior and crank the 350 to life, evidenced by the healthy exhaust note out back. The lowered stance creates decent handling and there's plenty of power on tap on the test loop, while a third brake light is visible in the rear view mirror that reflects the oval window. All functions on this well sorted Merc operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

We don't disparage Chevy and Ford lovers, but there's something utterly unique and cool about a classic Mercury, and this car checks all the boxes. This was Mercury's "small car" in 1947 but is big by today's standards, affords occupants plenty of room for a comfortable ride to the next car show! And we still encourage you to measure your garage before calling.

Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (that's more than 8 acres!). <title>1965 Mercury Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/mercury/other/1965/listing/211746</link>
      <description>1965 Mercury Parklane Marauder Hardtop

This 1965 Mercury Parklane Marauder allows you to enjoy a trip back in time, as you travel down the forever winding PCH, (Pacific Coast Highway).  Presenting nearly as it was assembled, this survivor Mercury is ready to be enjoyed all the while treating it's passengers to a glimpse of what things really were like back in good ole 1965.  An important item of note is as this is a good working example, but does suffer from invasive rust in the frame, but more on that later.  A muscle car in a red tuxedo if you will, showing 43,000 title verified actual miles on the odometer.

  Exterior
Red, Red, Cardinal Red that is, in good condition is the paint color for this hardtop Parklane, which presents with some chipping, fading and a few minor rust bubbles down low behind the rear tires.  This finish does retain a nice shine and is a color change from the original Jamaican Yellow and Onyx.  The brite work and chrome bumpers are all there, correct badging and even the stainless trim rocker spears and wheel lip moldings are present and accounted for.  All exterior lighting is in very nice original condition.  The slab steel sides, started this year, present well with faux vents leading the way on the front quarters and a Parklane badge bringing up the tail end of the rear quarters.  I really dig the groovy mirrored cathedral tail lights with their chrome divider bars mounted at the very end of each rear quarter panel.  The cavernous trunk displays with its original Jamaican Yellow finish and there is enough room for this to be considered a good sized New York City apartment.  Finishing off the outside are 15-inch steel wheels with standard turbine Mercury covers all wrapped in almost new thin whitewall radial rubber.

  Interior
Original black upholstery is seen throughout the passenger compartment, as well as the carpet which is a low cut pile with nearly no fading and some minor soiling   A split back bench upfront, and a bench across the rear are all in beautiful crinkle black vinyl with various tuck and roll stitching in vertical and horizontal patterns and finished off with decorative emblems in the backs.  In the center of the rear sprawling bench seat is a fold down armrest.  The black leatherette wrapped 2 spoke steering wheel fronts the factory gauges in their black and brushed aluminum ribbed housing.  A heater and defroster is an option this car has along with an AM radio and a thin band of dark wood applique dresses the bottom of the dash.  The door panels, in well padded black vinyl, houses the chrome window cranks and even more cranks for the wing windows as well as a huge applique insert dressed with stainless trim, luxury at its finest!  Rounding out the interior is a crack free padded dash topper.

  Drivetrain
A lift of the massive hood reveals the original 390 cubic inch V8 gracing the engine bay, and a 4-barrel carburetor is perched on top.  The bay shows with some patina on various surfaces but the big V8 shines gloriously in all its orange/red painted splendor among all the supple hoses and wires.  Bolted to the back of this mill is a 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive which sends power way back to a 3.25 conventional geared Ford 9" rear axle.

  Undercarriage
The basement...or undercarriage, shows patinaed underpinnings, surface rusted dual exhaust and a fairly drip free oil pan and transmission.  The frame and flooring present with the factory undercoating and a smattering of surface rust on the usual suspects.   We note the frame side rails have been heavily plated covering what is believed to be invasive rust and on the driver's frame kick up over the axle shows with heavy invasive rust for the frame.  The suspension is independent coil spring suspension up front and a 3 link and coil springs on the rear, just the way the engineers designed it.  Drum brakes are all around, and this car is now manual steering equipped, but our consignor has all the original power steering parts to include with your purchase.

  Drive-Ability
As we hop off the lift, and into this car we are in black interior bliss.  Just beautifully done and comfortable.  Turn the key and we are lit and ready to pull down on the dainty 60's design column shifter.  This car cruises nicely, turns well and has easy steering, has good acceleration, and was a nice ride in the late summer sun with the windows down.  All looking aces for our test drive with all functions well....functioning.

Overall, this car presents nicely, and mechanically is sound, but is in need of some repairs or patchwork on the frame.  It is a reliable car with a nifty engine that through the years has stayed very proper and fairly original.  Join the collector car crowd with this Mercury  and show your neighbors and the world that "Mercury speaks quietly of your good taste".
