      <description>1959 MG MGA 1500 Coupe

For consignment, a 1959 MG MGA 1500 coupe showing 61,020 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This car has been woman owned for the past 20 years and used for car shows and ice cream runs only.

  Exterior
The MG presents in classic British sports car profile, the dramatic shape that was the coveted ambition of many Americans after World War II and beyond. This coupe has a rounded roofline to complement the long nose, sweeping front fender, and abbreviated tail, all covered in Dove Gray. Polished metal trim adds to its elegance with light rings, a windblown grille, and bumpers that flank 15-inch chrome wire wheels with knock offs and 80 series tires. The rear window curves energetically, narrowing the B-pillar behind an already slender A-pillar. The gray is interrupted in the back by a pair of modest tail lights and the infamous octagon MG emblem. Imperfections include some visible filler in a door seam, cracking paint on top surfaces, more evident filler on rocker panels, fender, and apron, light metal pitting, along with various paint chips.

  Interior
Mottled red grain vinyl covers the door panels cleanly, accompanied by vintage hardware and D-handles door pull. Bucket seats are dressed in the same material with robust piping and other than some compression and general age, present nicely. Matching material makes up the dash pad which arches over a wood dashboard with chrome rimmed, black faced gauges with a touch of patina, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD radio in front of the passenger. A wood rimmed three spoke steering wheel accompanies a wood knobbed, floor mounted shifter based in black carpet that also covers the package shelf behind the seats. The trunk surface is black painted steel and houses a spare.

  Drivetrain
Dark red makes a second appearance in the engine bay where the valve cover and thermostat housing of the 1800cc inline four cylinder are painted to match. It is fueled by a single 2-barrel carburetor and mated to a 4-speed manual transmission that routes power to the rear axle and 4.30 gears.

  Undercarriage
Driver quality, rather than show quality, are the conditions found underneath with typical age induced metal oxidation and some typical surface rust. We note one of the battery trays has invasive rust and the undersides of the doors show pitting. Drum brakes are employed at each of the four wheels, and suspension consists of coil springs in front and leaf springs in back. A single exhaust flows through a stock style muffler on its way to a rear exit.

  Drive-Ability
We squeeze into the cozy cabin with head room to spare and crank over the four cylinder engine, then row the gears to get this fine Brit onto the test loop where it handles well, tracks straight, and is as fun as we'd imagine an enclosed go kart could be! Of note is the tachometer, heater blower, radio and horn, all of which do not currently operate. All other functions work as they should and it's off the British room for this beauty. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Some of us are just not roadster/convertible people and for that, MG and other manufacturers created the confidence inspiring coupe versions for a cocoon like environment many prefer. This is a very nice example and in a sea of roadsters, presents as something just a bit off the beaten path.

      <title>1961 MG MGA</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/mg/mga/1961/listing/232654</link>
      <description>1961 MG MGA MK1 1600

For consignment, a 1961 MG MGA MK1 1600 showing 7,321 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This garage kept beauty is a one family owned MGA. 1961 MGAs are split between the MK1 1600's and the MK2 1600's which were introduced in late 1961 with a 1622cc engine.

  Exterior
Old English White is the official name of the paint here and it's a fitting name for an elegant little British sports car. A long hood that takes the shoulder line and slopes down to a low topped door, then rising again seamlessly on rising rear fenders is textbook British design and will forever look good. The lack of external door handles is an esthetic plus here while side mirrors are mounted on cowl and virtually disappear against the windshield frame. Rear tail lights protrude from the back fenders in their own, color keyed housing while chrome bumpers contour to end lines and contain a pair of bumperettes front and rear. 15-inch chrome wire wheels are the only way to go, and they look right at home topped with knock offs. The white canvas soft top has discolored over time and could use a good cleaning while the three plastic windows are slightly hazed. Imperfections include chips, paint runs, minor bubbling, orange peel, various scratches, and cracking paint.

  Interior
Oxblood is the interior color and a fantastic contrast to the white exterior, here beginning with simple vinyl clad door panels with large openings, leading to stitched bucket seats in very good condition. A padded band of Oxblood vinyl lines the top edge of the dashboard and travels back over the doors spilling over slightly to appear on the exterior. Up front, a three spoke wood rimmed steering wheel fronts a white painted dash panel with simple black gauges and a series of black knobs, each showing some light patina. A low pile black carpet covers the floor and houses the shifter with rubber boot on the transmission tunnel and the driver is afforded an elbow rest. In the clean trunk, we find glass windows and a tonneau cover for the stowed soft top.

  Drivetrain
Oxblood paint covers the valve cover of the 1588cc inline four cylinder under the bonnet. It's in driver quality esthetic condition and puts our 80 horsepower with rebuilt dual 1-barrel carburetors. A 4-speed manual sets things in motion and sends power to the rear axle with 4.30 gears.

  Undercarriage
Surface rust coats the gas tank in back as well as the leaf springs in back and parts of the frame and front suspension. There's some residual oil on the rear differential and the wood floors are in good condition. Disc brakes are used up front with drums in the back. A single exhaust wears a clean stock style muffler and the system terminates with a short tailpipe in back. There's some flaking rust on the inner rocker panel in back but the door bottoms are clear. Suspension includes the aforementioned leaf springs out back and coil springs in the front.

  Drive-Ability
This spry little sports car doesn't disappoint with its powerful little engine, classically comfortable cabin, and stately good looks. We row the shifter and take the MG around the test loop where it handles very well and your proximity to the ground makes things feel a lot faster than the speedometer implies. But we note some dragging of the brakes and the pedal itself is soft. Beyond that, all functional items on the car operate as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

The British sports car movement, which started in the late 40's in America, shows no sign of slowing. There are still a vast number of clubs around the country focused on historic offerings of the U.K. and this white MK1 represents a fantastic opportunity to join that enthusiastic sub culture into which younger and younger members are starting to migrate as they discover the coolness of vintage sports cars.

      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/mg/mga/1958/listing/211267</link>
      <description>1958 MG MGA Roadster

For consignment, a former black painted car now in Old English White, sporting a rebuilt engine in 2007 and driven sparingly, always garaged since this rebuild.  A new radiator, and now a 12 volt system car.  Now offered to you, this 1958 MGA Roadster, a 2 owner car that our consignor doesn't have the time to enjoy any longer...win you!

  Exterior
The MGA was a big step forward for the British automaker and somewhat shocking to MG fans around the globe.  With its persuasive yet delicate flowing lines all bathed in an older application of Old English White that is retaining its shine with just minor scratches and areas of rub off on the seams.  Starting up front, the raked back waterfall style grille which melts its way into the rounded peak fenders with their chrome bezel headlights.  Just below this steel and chrome artwork is a clean bumper with added bumperettes.  Moving down the sides, a swooping body line melts into the highly arched rear fenders creating a soft vee shape that keeps eyes drawn and hearts pounding.  These sides, devoid of all chrome and trimmings, achieve artistic perfection with the sculpted lines as they frame the knockoff hub wire spoke wheels and black wall rubber.  Just aft of the long bonnet is a chromed windscreen framed with a black vinyl convertible top with clear plastic windows and additional side curtains are present and accounted for in case you hit a spot of inclement weather.   On the back is the rear curved bumper stretching from fender to fender with its near perfect bumperettes, oval tail lights, and a chrome octagonal MG badge in the center of the boot lid.

  Interior
Reaching in and pulling the door release strap in the center of black door panels, we are greeted with a bit of unexpected niceties in the form of good condition white leather tuck and roll low back bomber style bucket seats with a hint of wrinkling to the upholstery.  Also on the drivers seat is a small tear between the insert and the bolsters along the piping seam.  There is a padded choice leather covered white center armrest tucked neatly between the passenger's seat and on top of the center hump.  An eyebrow curved dash, also draped in black sports a litany of Jaeger sweep gauges, which pepper a white painted steel curved dash front along with the heater controls, bright radio speaker grille and framed MG badge over more white steel in front of the passenger.  This dash is fronted by a black bakelite with a central X spoke banjo style steering wheel.  Deep black carpeting with minor wear on the thresholds floods the floors and a rear storage area all looking so inviting and beckoning me to feel its softness.

  Drivetrain
A flip of the long swooping hood reveals a nicely restored 4-cylinder red painted engine block in 1489cc configuration.  This mill is fed by 2 SU's which are semi downdraft carburetors.  There is a 4-speed manual transmission attached to the back and a 4.30 rear axle way in back.  The engine bay is very well done with just a light dust coating of patina.

  Undercarriage
All straight structural steel is underneath, and makes up a clean undercarriage displaying just minor road dirt, patina and some surface rust.  The floor pans are strong and solid with factory undercoating applied, meanwhile the side rockers and frame are nearly like new.  For the suspension, independent coil springs are up front, and leaf springs for the back and drum brakes front and rear are on for the whoa factor.

  Drive-Ability
I never miss a chance to pilot a British sports car and this one spoke to me dearly as it's the second of its kind to ever grace our Hallowed Halls.  A quick starter with a pull of the starter knob, and after a nice warmup it ran incredibly smoothly and had great snappy pickup.   It handled well and just the open road feel of this car is worth the price of admission.  All was working  just cracking save for the fuel gauge which the consignor states is inaccurate and the turn signals did not go on.  The deep plush black carpeting felt wonderful.

An older restoration job holding up just well today, this car presents in nice shape as a driver and looker.  It has a beautiful look with the Old English White paint and black vinyl top over the luxurious white hued leather interior.  Mechanically it is sound, and we are talking about a Brit from 1958, priced very fair for today's market.  So leave the cell phone at home, send the kids to the neighbors and spend some much needed time in your own get-away car.  And no signals...who cares I'll just put out my arms for the vintage feel.

      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/mg/mga/1958/listing/211098</link>
      <description>1958 MG MGA Roadster

For consignment, a restored in the 1990's small cruiser with its British Motor Industry Trust certificate, workshop manual, and a phonebook's worth of restoration receipts and photos, all in 1958 MGA roadster form.  All correct on the chrome and body front, coming with its side curtains, a nice convertible top, a wonderfully tasteful interior black coloring accenting the classic British Racing Green color change exterior, and 1958 never looked so good!

  Exterior
The MGA was a big step forward for the British automaker and somewhat shocking to MG fans around the globe.  Our example, the second to last year for the MGA 1500, continued to stun crowds with its persuasive yet delicate flowing lines all bathed in a nicely applied color change application of British Racing Green that is showing well to this day with a few stone chips, scuffs, and scrapes.  Starting up front with the raked back waterfall style grille which melts its way into the rounded peak fenders with their chrome bezel headlights we are in late 50's English bliss.  Just below this steel and chrome artwork is a clean bumper with added bumperettes.  Moving down the sides, a swooping body line melts into the highly arched rear fenders creating a soft Vee shape that keeps eyes drawn and hearts pounding.  These sides, devoid of all chrome and trimmings save for the front quarter top venting, achieve artistic perfection with the sculpted lines as they frame the restored gray drilled wheels and blackwall rubber in 15-inch format.  A black vinyl top with clear plastic windows and additional side curtains are present and accounted for in case you hit a spot of inclement weather.  We do note areas of tearing in the top, but they are slight and do not require a full top replacement at this point.  On the back is the rear curved bumper stretching from fender to fender with its near perfect bumperettes, oval tail lights, and chrome MG badge gracing the trunk lid.

  Interior
Reaching in and pulling the door release strap we are greeted with a bit of unexpected niceties in the form of black leather tuck and roll low back bomber style bucket seats with a hint of wrinkling to the upholstery and the handbrake tucked neatly between the passenger's seat and thickly padded center hump.   An oak eyebrow curved dash, also draped in black sports a litany of gauges which pepper a black leather curved panel along with the heater controls, and MG badge over wood in front of the passenger.  Our consignor notes that the original metal dash face plate is included with your purchase.  This is fronted by a black rimmed banjo style 4 spoke steering wheel.  Black leather covers the simple small doors, and each offers up some pouch storage and the chromed retainers for the side curtains.  Deep black carpeting with very little wear floods the floors and a rear storage area all looking so inviting and beckoning me to feel its softness.

  Drivetrain
A flip of the long swooping hood reveals a nicely restored 4-cylinder red painted engine block in rebuilt 1489cc configuration.  This mill is fed by 2 SU's which are semi downdraft carburetors.  There is a 4-speed manual transmission attached to the back and a 4.30 rear axle way in back.  The engine bay is very well done with just a light dust coating of patina.

  Undercarriage
All straight structural steel is underneath and makes up a clean undercarriage displaying just minor road dirt, patina and some surface rust.  The wood floor pans are strong and solid with black paint applied, meanwhile the side rockers and unibody are nearly like new, but we note a few amateur welded in repairs on the rear of the rockers.  For the suspension, independent coil springs are up front, and leaf springs for the back and drum brakes front and rear are on for the whoa factor.

  Drive-Ability
I never miss a chance to pilot a British sports car and this one spoke to me dearly as it's the fourth of its kind to ever grace our Hallowed Halls.  A quick starter from the starter pull, and after a nice warmup it ran incredibly smoothly and had great snappy pickup.  It handled well and just the open road feel of this car is worth the price of admission.  All was working swimmingly and my suspicions were correct, the deep plush black carpeting felt wonderful.

An older restoration job holding up just well today, this car presents in nice shape as a driver, but with some very minor work can be taken to the next level and be a top flite show winner.  It has a beautiful look with the classic racing green paint, and black vinyl top with the luxurious black hued leather interior.  Mechanically it is sound, and we are talking about a Brit from 1958, priced very fair for today's market.  So leave the cell phone at home, send the kids to the neighbors and spend some much needed time in your own get-away car.
