<description>1952 Packard Deluxe 200. Straight 8 '2 speed' automatic. Runs drives and stops reliably. Engine purrs very smooth and handles like a Cadillac on the road. 3rd owner. Brakes have been gone through completely and front wheel bearings have been packed. Recent tune up and carb rebuild. Has brand new white wall tires. Newer battery. Still 6 volt. Upholstery is in very nice shape. Garaged since we have had it. Door locks work, gauges work (except for fuel gauge). Automatic transmission shifts perfectly. Has an added electric fuel pump for easier starts. Miles are original. Cons: Front main does drip oil after running (not a puddle just a drip). 2 cracked pieces of glass (both are flat). Paint looks good from a distance but definitely isn'tt perfect. Chrome is peeling in places. All in all a very nice driver. Gets lots of looks and compliments. We driven it to lots of car shows. <title>1929 Packard Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/packard/other/1929/listing/238011</link>
<description>This Sport Phaeton has 19,745 actual miles since new and only a handful of miles since it's concourse restoration. It has a history including aristocrats, a high profile criminal and "barn find" intrigue. It is a genuine CCCA full classic.

  Awards:
2010 Geneva Concourse 1st place in class
2012 Amelia Island Concourse Best in Class 2nd
2012 Naples Car Show Best of Show
2014 Naples Car Show Best in Class 1st
2018 AACA National 1st place, Best in Class, designated Senior Award Classification
2023 Naples Car Show People's Choice

History: This Packard has a very colorful history. It was special ordered by the Count and Countess of Cacem Portugal. It was also tied to one of the greatest frauds in history! Alvis de Reis, the infamous criminal was photographed and even interviewed in this car, he perpetrated the Portugal Bank Note Crisis. It was then stored in a palace in Lisbon until the late 1960s when a Navy officer bought it. News Flash: The Navy officer found the car on our site and just contacted me! It came back to the US in 1980, the current owner bought it 14 years ago from a man that owned it 35 years. It has gone through 3 restorations. The last restoration cost $188,000 and they started with a very nice car.

EXTERIOR: It certainly has an impressive presence; it is an example of rolling artwork. Up front stands a tall chrome grill with a long hood behind it. The low cut doors and open cockpit give it the sporty feel. The rolling fenders are home to dual sidemount wheels. The body is in outstanding condition, professionally restored. The paint is polished like glass. The chrome all sparkles. Features include authentic Trippe lights up front, a stone guard protecting the radiator and the Goddess of Speed ornament perched on top. It also has cowl lights and a spotlight. The chrome windshield folds flat, swings open and has a set of wing windows. There is also an optional folding dual windshield for the rear passengers. It has 6 restored wire wheels with reproduction white wall tires. The spares have optional painted metal covers and chrome bands. In back is a luggage rack and a fully restored trunk. The convertible top was restored and is wearing Haartz cloth. A full set of new side curtains are included too. To make it a bit for user friendly turn signals were carefully added front and back. An extension was also put on the tail pipe to prevent exhaust from staining the trunk.

INTERIOR: Professionally upholstered in glove soft red leather. In back it has refinished burl wood locking compartments and premium carpet. In front is a beautiful wood trimmed dash, the gauges and controls are in excellent shape. Correct laminate and aluminum floor.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The smooth running straight 8 motor was rebuilt. It's 354 ci and makes 105 hp. It's properly dated to this car, believed to be the original. All the components were restored and beautifully detailed.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk was restored inside and out. Upholstered in matching Haartz cloth.

UNDERSIDE: The underside was carefully prepped and painted. Correct exhaust, semi elliptic leaf springs and lever shocks. Bottom of the motor looks clean. Rebuilt 3-speed transmission.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and had the starter rebuilt.

CONCLUSION: This is a genuine Classic recognized by the Classic Car Club of America which entitles it to participate in their events including caravans. I said this car is rolling artwork. That's not just because of its beauty but it's also an investment!

Vehicles are displayed in a museum setting. Admission applies without an appointment and is refunded with purchase, including a one-year museum membership.

      <title>1936 Packard Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/packard/other/1936/listing/224165</link>
      <description>1936 Packard 120 Series Sedan

For consignment, a 1936 Packard 120 series sedan with a title verified 41,689 actual miles and according to our consignor, 39,060 of those miles were in California where this car originated.  Since coming East about 10 years ago, the car has undergone some cosmetic improvements inside and out, as well as mechanical maintenance that has resulted in a well running machine.

  Exterior
With its tall vertical ribbed stained chrome grille, bullet style headlights, teardrop turn signal housings, and single wide bar chrome bumper with guards along with the standard hood ornament/radiator cap leads the way on this large and expensive looking automobile.  All surfaces are bathed in Packard Cream with a slight tone different from the engine cover and front fenders to the rest of the body.  The long side vented hood with ornate trim makes its way back to 4 nicely aligned doors with several pinstripes that run the length.  All the windows have rounded corners, and this sweeping design carries over to the humpbacked trunk which has a wonderful, arched rear glass just above.  Small round tail lights are on either side of a second storage door and just below another wide curved bumper with modest Packard badge in the center.  Wide whites wrap 16-inch body matched steel wheels that have Packard badged dish center covers appearing on all 4 corners, connected visually by a wide black running board.  Imperfections include cracked paint in several areas and areas of bubbling.

  Interior
A new LeBaron Bonney interior graces this Packard, beginning with smooth tan broadcloth which mixes with a carpeted lower section on the four door panels, enhanced with decorative piping.  This material makes its way to the lofty front bench and the opulent rear seat that provides foot and arm rests for the ultimate lap of luxury.  Up front the original dash in all its art deco styling and gray/brown painted metal splendor with embossed bezels framing the original white faced instruments.  In the center are several bakelite knobs and buttons along with the ignition switch and ash receptacle, while in front of the passenger is a round clock sitting within the glovebox door.  A heater box is noted below the dash and a modern gauge to monitor water temperature has been added.  The steering wheel is a functional sculpture with tapered spokes leading to a grooved rim.  Topping off this regal interior is thick tan carpet at our feet and a tan headliner that is fully intact.  The two storage compartments in the back are clean and covered in black carpet.

  Drivetrain
Pulling upward on either side cowling reveals the driver quality green 282ci inline 8 cylinder engine, producing, you guessed it, 120 horsepower!  A 2-barrel carburetor is onboard, and a 3-speed manual transmission is on the back sending power to a 4.09 geared rear axle.  The drum brakes on all four wheels received new brake hoses, wheel cylinders, and brake shoe linings.

  Undercarriage
A big solid X frame holds all the upper body and undercarriage working to it, and all is looking very structurally solid with a liberal coating of surface rust.  Independent coil sprung front suspension which is seen, and on back are leaf springs.  The single exhaust enters a stock style muffler with some heavy pitting in the rust of the shell and tracks all the way to the back where a decorative chrome deflector covers the steel tip.

  Drive-Ability
We were warned this car does not like the cold but here we are mid-winter and she starts up with very little protest and delivers a smooth and quiet ride around our short test loop.  The new brakes do their part to slow this 3,600 pound, (approximate), behemoth and all features provided in this fine car work as intended.  While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

In a bold ad campaign in 1936, Packard boasted about the popularity of their cars, dedicating single ads to particular locations where "Packards are Preferred".  The towns included Washington D.C., Westchester, New York, Pasadena, California, Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and Chicago's North Shore.  In each ad, stately homes in these areas were illustrated, often with a Packard parked in a circular driveway.  No matter where you live or what your house looks like, this Packard is going to look amazing in front, and even better in the garage!  Here's a chance to own one of the best of the best and if you don't believe us, do what Packard suggested in all their ads, "ask the man who owns one".

      <title>1939 Packard Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/packard/other/1939/listing/220275</link>
      <description>1939 Packard 1700 6 Series Touring Sedan

For consignment, a 1939 Packard 1700 6 Series touring sedan, fully restored and showing 78,999 unverifiable miles.  The touring sedan was designed for four or more passengers and the "touring" denoted the car's ability and design geared to long distance driving.  In this early part of the century, populations were still concentrated in urban centers, so people engaged in touring as a way to temporarily escape and take a ride in the "country," rural areas on the outskirts of cities.

  Exterior
This regal Packard, upright and tall, is bathed in pale yellow with contrasting brown fenders.  That brown also takes in the headlight casing and wide running board which is otherwise covered in a black rubber mat.  A rising vertical grille is topped by the Goddess of Speed hood ornament, a coveted piece of automotive jewelry.  Louvers span the length of the engine covers on each side, fronted by ribbed metal trim and topped by an incredible pointed body line that sends a gentle ripple all the way down the shoulder line, ending just before the humped trunk in back.  The 16-inch wheels alone are photogenic, the steel wheels color keyed to the body, a ridged polished beauty rings surrounding and matching the outer rim of the hubcap with colored center, all wrapped in spectacular wide white walls.  A V-shaped windshield is intersected by trim while the two windows in back are split by a body colored pillar.  No glaring defects or imperfections were found on the exterior.  It's in fantastic shape.

  Interior
Brown pleated cloth on the doors is soft to the touch and based by a carpeted panel, and this material continues on the front bench seat that is thick, wide, and unmarred.  The rear bench is accessible via the suicide style doors and afford occupants voluminous headspace and more than adequate legroom.  A plastic cover with finger grooves covers the steering wheel which fronts a dashboard engulfed in plastic burl wood trim and deco-period gauges and switchgear in a ribbed metal mid-panel, culminating with a large, elegant clock on the passenger side.  An added A/C unit is mounted under the dashboard just above the plush brown carpet that flows over the floor.  A brown suede headliner rises cleanly overhead.

  Drivetrain
We find a clean engine bay behind the covers housing a rebuilt 245.3ci L-head inline six cylinder rated at 100 horsepower and fueled by a 1-barrel carburetor.  The 3-speed manual transmission sends power wayward to the rear wheels where 4.09 gears are found.  Drum brakes occupy the front and rear wheels.

  Undercarriage
Very nice, very clean, uniformly black and lacking surface rust and any misplaced oil.  The single exhaust is heat wrapped before it enters a stock style muffler, then the tailpipe finds its way to the back.  Coil spring suspension is utilized up front, and leaf springs are out back.

  Drive-Ability
The L-head fired up and we quietly rolled onto the test loop with this royal car and if you're taking a long ride out to the country in 1939, this is the automobile for the task!  Roomy, quiet, and soft.  Country roads might be the goal, but it's the journey that is the real reward.  This well sorted car performed well and all available functions worked as they should.  While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Originally from Florida, this car underwent restoration and rebuild from 2017 to 2024, so it's a refresh that looks every bit of a professional and recent bit of work.  Packard was the standard bearer in many ways, and this was one of just 24,350 1700's built in 1939 and a fine representation.  Will this Goddess of Speed take residence in your garage or collection?  Please let us know.

      <title>1938 Packard Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/packard/other/1938/listing/218135</link>
<description>1938 Packard Twelve 1607 Series Convertible Coupe

For consignment, a 1938 Packard Twelve 1607 Series convertible coupe and it's possible it's one of eight known to exist. Over the course of our consignor's 40 year ownership many restorative actions, including a proper paint job eight years ago, have taken place. This is a rare opportunity to own one of America's premiere historic luxury cars and this example shows 49,262 non-verifiable miles on the odometer.

  Exterior
Packard Ivory was applied to this car after it was disassembled and stripped and covers the large panels and sweeping fenders in fine form. It coats the radiator shell which is sculpted to follow the contours of the long hood while the grille is topped by scalloped trim creating an exquisite, streamlined nose. The chrome was redone on the car 20 years ago and still looks good today. The bold front bumper creates the leading edge of the car in front of massive pontoon fenders, yellow fog lights, and headlights with descending trim that falls to the bumper. The graceful cormorant hood ornament shines bright, wing outstretched, and leading another trim piece that runs the center of the hood. Spare wheels are encased in color keyed holders, each fitted into the hand hammered steel hollow of the front fenders. The 16-inch wheels are also painted to match the car and wear beauty rings and proper Packard hubcaps. Our tan top is in excellent condition, redone 20 years ago and has never seen rain. The paint's creamy coverage of this car is excellent and we did not find any exterior flaws.

  Interior
The upholstery was redone before our consignor took possession and is showing some age. Black leather is buttoned and pleated on the door panels topped by a wood header and retaining leather wrapped armrests. The tufted front split bench seat, along with the rear split bench, side walls, and armrests all show wear in the leather has some wear, contrasting with the exterior. Even with the patina, it's not difficult to imagine the opulence this would have represented in 1938. The ivory colored banjo style steering wheel is in decent condition with some minor cracking while the gray painted dash is in fine shape, housing a row of four large gauges with deco inspired font and design. Metal and ivory knobs provide the controls on the dash and a long shifter rises from the floor which is covered in plush black carpet. Tweed covers the inside of the trunk lid and walls while a rubber mat protects the floor of the lighted space.

  Drivetrain
Under the hood, a 473ci L-head V12 engine, rated at 175 horsepower and fueled by a 2-barrel carburetor. It is set into motion with a 3-speed Synchromesh manual transmission which sends power to the rear wheels and 4.63 gears. The engine bay presents very cleanly but would need some detailing to bring it up to concours level. The Packard is equipped with drum brakes on all four wheels.

  Undercarriage
An X-frame and an enormous oil pan highlight an underside that is clean but driver quality. There's a bit of surface rust on the leaf springs in back, some residual oil on the transmission and on the rear differential as well. Our consignor states the exhaust system was replaced two years ago and consists of a single pipe, stock style muffler, and a tailpipe that exits under the rear bumper. The front suspension is independent and houses coil springs.

  Drive-Ability
This was a car for the wealthy to drive, not to be driven in. So the front seat caters to comfort and ease and the car, with its 134 inch wheelbase, floats along our flat test loop like a swan across smooth water. It really does glide as the V12 pulls the car effortlessly and quietly. The clock and wipers are not functioning, but all other operations work as they should. Our consignor states the wiring harness was replaced 18 years ago.

Elegance, opulence, and even a bit of sportiness describe this drop top from an era when the country was getting back on its feet, climbing out of a depression. If you were in a position to veer from the typical Ford or Buick of the day, this was a giant step up and remains an iconic luxury car that in some ways, set the bar for all future halo cars aiming to garner the attention of the well to do. This is a rare car indeed and we're thrilled to offer this on consignment at Classic Auto Mall.

      <title>1949 Packard Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/packard/other/1949/listing/211923</link>
<description>1949 Packard Deluxe 8 Touring Sedan

For consignment, a 2 owner 1949 Packard Deluxe 8 Touring sedan with a known history of excellent upkeep. In the last few years, due to health issues the car has received less attention and accumulated some age as a result. Still, it presents well and would be a decent candidate to restore to former glory, or simply enjoy as is. In the past, it's received 2nd place in class wins at an annual show in four different years, and 3rd in class at the same show three years with 2014 being its final trophy.

  Exterior
Single stage black paint shines with satin glory. The Packard pinched grille crowns stretches of chrome and a huge bumper that's akin to a locomotive cow catcher is below. Along with the headlight rings, futuristic hood emblem, and other metal bits, the bumpers will need some polishing to bring back to full shine. Proportionally large, the profile of the car reveals big doors, an enormous hood, and a high roofline that not only provides interior space but flows into a bowed trunk between bulging fenders. It's an impressive piece of machinery. And for such a huge car, the tail lights seem diminutive as two small ovals proved adequate in 1949. White wall tires surround 15-inch wheels wearing Packard hubcaps and Hallelujah, they're all there, because nice replacements can be costly. The rear wheels of course, are mostly obscured by the stylistic low wheel opening further enclosed with fender skirts. Imperfections in the paint include an area of cracking, some mixing pieces, various scrapes and scuffs, previous touch ups, and evidence of Bondo repairs.

  Interior
Simple patterned cloth door cards, each topped with an elegant wood painted steel crown, show some water mark staining, but are intact. The front bench seats combine vinyl panels with an airweave cloth insert. It's seen better days with tears in several places and discoloration. The rear seat fairs better in more of a broadcloth pattern with vinyl panels. Some of the padded seat back of the front has sustained some damage, possibly mice, while its grab rail is in good condition. The wonderful center cap of the steering wheel has Packard written in silver seemingly under glass, while the half horn ring arches downward below two metal topped spokes. A vintage Texaco branded steering assist knob is on the wheel. Lacquered wood makes up the sculpted dashboard which houses the gauge cluster in all its Art Deco grace while a vintage traffic light viewer is mounted on the steering column, usually reserved for cars with a Fulton style visor. The center of the dashboard is home to a speaker, control knobs and a vertically mounted AM radio. Covering the floor we note a thin textured mat under rubber mats in the front and somewhat more plush low pile carpet in the back. The cavernous trunk has no covering and will benefit from restoration.

  Drivetrain
A 288ci inline 8 cylinder engine is under the massive hood and is rated at 135 horsepower. It receives fuel from a Carter WGD728 2-barrel carburetor and is set into motion via a 3-speed manual transmission with a column shifter. Drum brakes are found in the front and rear of the car. The engine bay shows patina and surface rust but is complete.

  Undercarriage
Patina hints at what's underneath with surface rust, more advanced in some areas is found throughout. The oil pan is dry, but the transmission has visible fluid including near the tail shaft, and the rear differential also has wetness including on and around the pinion gear. Caked on grease exists on steering and wheel components while more invasive rust can be seen on the inner rocker panels and floor pan. A single exhaust travels down the right side of the bottom, meets a stock style muffler, then exits out the back under the rear bumper. Independent suspension with coil springs are up front while leaf springs are in the back.

  Drive-Ability
While not presently running our consignor tells us it's had a history of overheating after 5-10 miles. Check back for a full report once the starting issues have been rectified.

Packards outsold Cadillacs up until 1950, when Cadillac introduced the automatic transmission, but Packard was quick to develop their own. But in 1949, Packard was the sales king for luxury vehicles and cars like this Deluxe 8 were the reason why. This is a mid range condition car, having reigned as a show car just 10 years ago, now in need of some attention and restoration. But the bones are there and ripe for someone wanting to bring her back.
