      <title>1934 Plymouth Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/plymouth/other/1934/listing/250890</link>
<description>The 1934 Plymouth 2 Door Sedan came from an era when American automakers were pushing design and engineering forward despite the challenges of the Great Depression. Plymouth had already earned a reputation for building durable, affordable cars, and the sleek 1934 models carried a distinctive presence with flowing fenders and a confident grille. Today, surviving examples are scarce, and when one is transformed into a full tilt modern street machine like this, the result is something that stops traffic long before the engine even fires.

This all steel '34 Plymouth has been treated to an extensive build backed by over $80,000 in partial restoration receipts. Beneath the vintage steel body sits a fully modernized chassis featuring Mustang II front suspension, a 4 link rear setup, and a Ford 9 inch rear end. Power rack and pinion steering and Wilwood four wheel disc brakes with six piston fronts and four piston rears give this pre war sedan handling and stopping power that rivals modern performance cars.

Under the hood is where things get serious. A professionally built 392ci Gen III HEMI from Proformance Unlimited delivers an earth shaking 650 horsepower. The build includes AFR aluminum heads, forged pistons, a Manley forged crankshaft, Comp Cams hydraulic roller camshaft, ARP hardware throughout, and a Holley Sniper fabricated intake fed by Holley Terminator X EFI. Ceramic coated shorty headers, a Milodon oil pan, Melling oil pump, and a Holley mid mount serpentine system keep everything running cool and reliable through an aluminum radiator with electric fan. Power is routed through a legendary Mopar 727 automatic transmission, a pairing that hot rodders have trusted for decades.

The exterior keeps the timeless Plymouth lines intact while adding tasteful custom touches. Finished in a smooth tan finish, the car rides on Foose chrome wheels staggered 18 inches up front and 20 inches out back. Custom fenders and side steps accent the profile while suicide doors add a dramatic entrance. A power actuated hood reveals the HEMI centerpiece, making this sedan just as impressive at a show as it is when the throttle is opened.

Inside, the cabin blends classic hot rod style with modern comfort. Brown custom leather bucket seats, a center console, Lokar floor shifter, custom dash with AutoMeter gauges, and LED interior lighting create a driver focused cockpit. Vintage Air heat and air conditioning, power windows, tilt steering, and a custom headliner complete the interior, turning this rare pre war Plymouth into a street rod that delivers brutal performance with long distance comfort.

      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/plymouth/other/1937/listing/246463</link>
<description>1937 Plymouth P50 Pickup truck - this is one RARE pickup! Now for sale by the 85 yr old owner, restorer. Plymouth, the division of Chrysler that started in 1928 and was shut down in 2001, was never known for trucks. It built trucks for such a short period -- from 1935 to 1942 -- and only dabbled in them again with the easy-to-forget Trail Duster front-wheel-drive car-pickup in the mid 1970s. The 1937 Plymouth PT-50 half-ton pickup, which cost $525, was by far the most popular 1937 Plymouth truck. Nearly 11,000 were built for the model year. Standard equipment included safety glass all around, a spare wheel nestled in the right front fender, and a six-foot-long pickup box, about four feet wide. Power for the 1937 Plymouth PT-50 half-ton pickup came from the Plymouth L-head six with 70 horsepower - this truck, however, has an upgraded 1952 Dodge engine increasing the HP to about 100 or so. The three-speed floor-mounted transmission had silent helical gears in second speed.Options for the 1937 Plymouth PT-50 half-ton pickup included a rear bumper, bumper guards, left-hand spare wheel mount (providing dual side mounts), right-hand windshield wiper, and chrome windshield frame. This particular truck was a born and raised California truck and was never exposed to the harsh weather of the Northeast. The 85 yr old owner has lovingly restored the truck and now has it up for sale. Some of the work that was done on the truck is listed below. All new wire harness from Rhode Island Wire Co. New headlight bulbs and reflectors, and the optional Fog LightsAdded directionals, front and rear - the fronts are mounted under the bumper and are courtesy of Harley Davidson. New steering box, New leaf Springs (Posie), all new leather interior, All new paint, Coker radial tires - Bias ply tires are available, kill switch, electric gas pump, alternator upgrade, new gauges done by DMC, and the truck comes with a cover.</description>

      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/plymouth/other/1946/listing/245945</link>
<description>1946 Plymouth Super Deluxe 4 door sedan that I have owned since 1968. In 1972, I removed the engine and had a mechanic overhaul it. The project got pushed aside as my business got busier. It has been stored inside for the last 50 years. Rear fenders were dented from the previous owner and over the years I purchased 2 NOS fenders at swap meets. Almost Zero rust. Interior is still very nice. I did not look at the actual mileage before I listed it. Last 3 pictures are of a parts vehicle that is included in the purchase price. This would be an easy project for someone. Paint is still very good and you would only need to have rear fenders painted to make it look nice. <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/plymouth/other/1937/listing/244357</link>
<description>1937 Plymouth p4 2 door coupe. Here's the full disclosure. I will try to include every detail i know about this car. If I dont answer all of your questions in this ad, then you'll just have to come over and take a look and answer the rest of your questions while you look at it. I am literally posting everything I know about this car. So it won't do you any good to text or call me with questions. (Except to get the address). Again... you just have to come look at it. This car was built out in like 1993 or 1994. Its at the point where it needs the next owner to strip it down and give it the once over, and just redo everything to their liking, and make it their own. OR... a guy could just do a few minor things to it and drive it like it is. I still run errands around town in it quite often. It's the perfect project for the guy that likes to tinker in the garage and fix up old hot rods. Would also make a great father / son project. Has a Chevy small block 400 with about 40,000 to 50,000 miles on it. It was a fresh rebuild when put in the car. It could use a little minor attention. (Like timing slightly adjusted. Fix a leaky gasket. Ect.) Nothing major. Edelbrock 4bbl carb, valve covers and air cleaner. Has dual exhaust. Muncie 4 spd. transmission. Could use a little linkage adjustment so it shifts better. But no major issues with it. Clutch is fine. Has a mid 80's Ford mustang 2 rack and pinion front end under it. With power steering. Needs a leaky seal fixed, and new shocks / shock bushings. Has a gm tilt steering column in it. Needs turn signal switch replaced, but turn signals do work. I dont know what rear end is in it. E-brake doesn't work. The rear leaf springs need to be re-arched, or replaced. It still drives around town just fine, you just can't get real aggressive with the gas pedal. The body is in great shape considering its age. I have only found two small spots where the rust has made it through the body panel. (See pics).

The manifold has been split, running true dual exhaust, giving the car a great sound while keeping a traditional look. Inside, the car features a beautiful mohair interior, which remains in excellent condition. The rubber floor mat has deteriorated, consistent with age, and is the only interior item noted. With a clean title, strong mechanicals, and a reputation for being very reliable to drive, this PJ Deluxe is a cool, honest prewar Plymouth that’s ready to be enjoyed as-is. <title>1970 Plymouth Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/plymouth/other/1970/listing/237754</link>
<description>Ultra rare! 1 of 185 Sport Satellites with a 383 and a pistol grip 4-speed! Then add in factory air conditioning and the white/white color combination; I bet it is a 1 of 1! Seems like someone wanted a Road Runner muscle car but only wanted to pay insurance rates for a Satellite. This is a really cool car and you will NOT see another one like it! Oh, I forgot to mention, it's a rotisserie restoration too!

EXTERIOR: It's a Road Runner in disguise! Super cool raised hood with a 383 callout and black stripe. Beautiful clean and straight metal all the way down the side of the body with smooth contours and crisp lines. All the panels are aligned correctly with good consistent gaps. The doors close easily with minimal effort, even if the windows are up. The Alpine White paint was neatly applied then polished to a smooth and slick finish. The black vinyl top looks totally fresh. All the chrome and bumpers are shiny and sparkly. The honeycomb style front grille is in great shape and the headlights were upgraded with high intensity units. All the glass is crystal clear. It has four brand new chrome Magnum 500 wheels: 15x7s in front, 15x8s and back.

INTERIOR: The door jambs are painted up real nice and the weatherstrips were replaced. The door panels, armrests and handles all look like new. Very clean dash with the wood grain and original gauges. The dash pad appears to be replaced. The climate control and radio are both in great condition. Nice glove box with a working light. And the factory vents are also in nice shape. The kick panels and carpeting were both replaced. The center console is a great original and has functional lights too. It also has the coolest shifter ever made, the Hurst long throw pistol grip, and that is original from the factory. The front bucket seats were both restuffed and recovered and are very comfortable. The rear seat was also recovered and has seatbelts too. The headliner is nice and tight with no wrinkles and has a working dome light. The sun visors and rear view mirror look new. A very nice original steering wheel nicely completes the interior.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is a date correct 383 four barrel V8 factory rated at 335 horsepower. It has factory air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes. Flaunting Chrysler reproduction spark plug wires and hoses, this car is done totally right. Everything looks clean and proper. The radiator looks fresh and the horns are hooked up. The battery is properly secured. The original fender tag is also in place. The underside of the hood, fender wells, and firewall were all nicely painted to match the body.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The bottom side of the trunk lid and jamb are painted slick just like the exterior. The weatherstrip was also replaced. The entire inside is all painted nice and clean Alpine White color. It's equipped with a full size spare tire and a rubber trunk mat.

UNDERSIDE: It looks like it was flipped on a rotisserie because the underbody is all clean metal painted glossy Alpine White. The steering and suspension look to have been rebuilt. It has newly converted disc brakes in front, the brake lines also look new, and the e-brake is hooked up. Totally new fuel system including the tank. Nicely installed and new exhaust system with Cherry Bomb full size mufflers. Looking up at the date code correct engine it is absolutely spotless. It also has the original VIN number matching 4-speed transmission and a 8 ¾" rear end out back.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and repaired the steering column, replaced the ashtray, repaired the horns, lubricated the speedometer cable, replaced the steering gear box, set the front end toe alignment and installed four brand new Magnum 500 wheels.

CONCLUSION: If you want unique, take a good long hard look at this car. It will be the only one you ever see like this; prove me wrong. What a cool and rare Satellite that's just out of this world!

      <title>1936 Plymouth Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/plymouth/other/1936/listing/236960</link>
      <description>1936 Plymouth P1 business Coupe

For consignment, a 1936 Plymouth P1 business coupe showing 19,634 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This street rod version of the business man's special has been owned by our consignor since 2006 who did some restoration and reworked the 350ci V8 and added lots of other custom touches. It was the cover car of Cruise News Magazine in May 2019.

  Exterior
Our owner didn't change the color when he bought it; it was one of those things that attracted him to it. It's yellow, as you can see and if you look close, you'll note some light pinstripe flourishes on the front fenders and a yellow etch-style painting of a unicorn on the quarter windows. The frenched tail lights flanking the big business end of the car are a great touch and there's also some ghost pinstriping and graphics back here. We've got 14-inch wheels in front and 15's in back and they're polished American Racing Torque Thrust wheels carrying staggered height and width tires that create a slightly raked profile while a wide, rubber topped running board runs between them. Imperfections include some scratches, blistering down low, touched up chips, a crack in the rear fender near the seam, and a few spots of uneven filler.

 Interior
Diamond stitched brown cloth dresses the inner doors and this velour like covering is used on the split bench seat with ornamental buttons added and it's in great shape. Brown is also employed on the Lecarra steering wheel which fronts a custom mirror like stainless dashboard with brass rimmed vintage style gauges. This shine continues across the dash, taking in knobs and an AM/FM/CD radio and below it all, chocolate brown carpet and a Lokar shifter perched on the transmission tunnel. Brown also lines the ceiling and a mulit-mode P.A. panel is zip tied to the windshield header, sounds like fun! The characteristically huge trunk is finished in the same brown materials, velour on the walls and carpet on the floor and presents cleanly.

  Drivetrain
The engine is exposed due to lack of engine covers, but pivoting the hood helps reveal its full shine, a chromed 350ci V8 that's reflected perfectly in the mirrored fire wall, and it's topped by dual Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetors, chrome air filter cover, chrome valve covers.  Behind it, a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission sending power to a 10 bolt axle.

  Undercarriage
Some chrome and yellow dress up the underside where we find dual exhaust flowing from headers and meeting some Dynomax mufflers before being sent out back through chrome tips. Power brakes are on board as front disc and rear drum and suspension consists of coil springs front and leaf springs rear. There's also some underside lighting added.

  Drive-Ability
The soft interior provides a pleasant perch to pilot this yellow rod and allows plenty of the sweet exhaust note to penetrate the interior as we roll this beauty onto the test loop where it tracks straight, provides more than adequate power, and handles nicely. All of the functions available work as intended however, we note the driver's door handle needs to be pushed in while cranking the driver's window in order for it to move. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

here are plenty of Ford and Chevrolet street rods, but here's a Plymouth and business coupe to boot! It's an excellent build with an eye popping engine, accommodating interior, and enough room in the trunk for all of your show car props, chairs, and coolers. Plus, extra room for any trophies you may drive off with. Well sorted and ready to roll, come get you some sunshine in the form of a 1936 Plymouth!

      <title>1969 Plymouth Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/plymouth/other/1969/listing/233001</link>
<description>1969 Plymouth Sport Satellite 2 Door Hardtop

For consignment, a 1969 Plymouth Sport Satellite 2 door hardtop showing 95,405 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This is a numbers matching Mopar owned by our consignor since 1976 when he purchased it from the original owners. He followed the hot rodding trends of the time to make the car faster, but began refreshing the car in 2016 with maintenance, mods, and other work meticulously documented along the way.

  Exterior
B-body greatness is enhanced by the Sunfire Yellow paint in two glossy two stage application with the black vinyl top providing a classic contrast. Beyond the doors resides a long panel and just like the front fender, contains a body line that is subtle but made more evident by the shadowing pale yellow provides. The sheer length bookends the flat decklid with a panel that is adorned with some polished trim and name plate. Fantastic tail light represent 60's simplicity and have always appeared muscular, underscored by a straight chrome bumper and two down turned exhaust tips. Mopar's predilection for simple front fascia is here too, bearing a family resemblance to other B-bodies of the time, and the dual headlights across a straight grille might have been pedestrian in '69, looks aggressive today. 15-inch American Racing wheels are the shoes here and whatever dust they kick up is blocked by tasteful polished splash guards at each wheel opening. The paint, metalwork and other trim are in immaculate condition and we could find no exterior imperfections.

  Interior
Black paint sandwiches a vinyl panel and woodgrain insert on the doors and the black grain makes them especially handsome with both doors presenting cleanly. Stitch patterned black bucket seats with headrests occupy the front and along with the rear bench, could pass for showroom examples. A tachometer is perched on the column of the original steering wheel and leads to the horizontal instrument panel that briefly interrupts the run of simulated wood that flows the width of the dash. Embedded in the wood is an AM radio  while mounted underneath are some added gauges for oil and water. From there, woodgrain is once again used to face the center console housing the shifter that cants rearward for easy access and it's all in remarkably good condition. Black loop carpet floods the floor, a perforated headliner graces the ceiling, and a plaid vinyl mat cloaks the trunk. If you're not already impressed, hold on to your hat, we're about to dive into the engine bay.

  Drivetrain
Show ready clean is the numbers matching 383ci V8 with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, MSD ignition, an Edelbrock intake, and Direct Connection valve covers. Headers also make an appearance under the hood. The motor is backed by the numbers matching and resealed A727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission with reverse manual valve body that sends power to the 8 ¾ " rear with 3.91 gears. In addition to the clean power plant, the paint on the inner fenders and underside of the hood is very nice.

  Undercarriage
Exterior, interior, engine, and now underside make this car a grand slam! It's as clean as can be, beginning with the dual exhaust that flows through Dynomax mufflers and dumps to the outside with chrome tips. Drum brakes all around and the suspension is composed of torsion bars up front leaf springs in back. The absence of surface rust and errant fluids along with clean surfaces is impressive.

  Drive-Ability
The 383 is no slouch and this well maintained car starts, runs, idles, stops, and handles like it was 1969 all over again, and maybe a little better than that. As every item was addressed along the way, not surprisingly, all functions operate as they should on this straight B-body. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

A more understated performance car from the muscle car era that's been much loved, well maintained, and is fully functional. Of course, the icing on the cake is the numbers matching drivetrain. This is a stunning Satellite now ready for its third owner, so make like Space X and rocket over to Classic Auto Mall!

      <title>1936 Plymouth Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/plymouth/other/1936/listing/215150</link>
      <description>1936 Plymouth Coupe
The Plymouth Six model was the companies first six cylinder offering and was on a 107in wheelbase versus the larger 112 used on the Deluxe. They had a very luxurious appearance and you really don't see many of these full size classics around anymore. This very cool '36 is the coupe body style and is in very stock condition. The intention was this was going to be a street rod build but after really digging in and discovering the quality of the condition it was decided that it would be a shame to start modifying it. The all steel body is very solid and all rust free. It is painted in gloss Black paint that has a nice finish and pairs well with all of the original style stainless trim and chrome. Running down the side are thin Red pinstripes. The original bumpers are mounted in front/rear which have a nice shine. On the hood is the very nice Nautical themed ornament. The glass is all good and by the windshield is the original cowl which is still functional and windshield wiper which works. The car sits on a set of Red painted artillery wheels with Plymouth center caps and Firestone tires. The car comes with various miscellaneous parts including 2 extra artillery wheels.
Pop open the 4 piece hood from either side to reveal the original numbers matching 6 cylinder. The car runs and drives nicely. Paired with the motor is a manual transmission that shifts well. The electrical has been partially rewired and converted but not completely due to a pause up on the build. The headlights and tail lights work but the turn signals have not been wired in. Some of the extra parts that come with the car include a dual carb intake manifold, dual exhaust manifold and more. It cruises around well as is.
The interior is done in Tan cloth and is the stock style. It is in good condition throughout and the split bench seat has aftermarket lap belts. The dash is painted brown and features the stock all in one gauge but does also come with a new one. An aftermarket temperature gauge has been added under the dash.
This is a really cool classic and being a Plymouth is quite unique. You don't see many of them in this original condition so check it out while it is available.
It could be yours for the very reasonable $24,850.00!

      <title>1941 Plymouth Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/plymouth/other/1941/listing/211411</link>
      <description>1941 Plymouth P11 Deluxe Sedan

For consignment, a 1941 Plymouth Deluxe which has been reworked, rodded and painted to emulate a shiny rat ride with a business logo and name on either side.  All nice lines, a shaved front bumper dual doors and good gaps have this car showing as a rat ride but in reality is all buttoned up!

  Exterior
Rust free steel panels bathed in dark burgundy, (nearly purple), helps accentuate up this stylish rounded 4 door sedan.  Plenty of edging chrome to accentuate the sexy are nouveau lines of this front end and it has a squashed oval grille which is split in the middle by a vertical rising V shape, eventually handing off to the hood.  From here a pointed bulbous top makes another ever widening V shape and runs to the pillar less split glass windshield.  A side of the hood highlighting V originates at the front of the hood, runs along the hood and then the entire car as a trim spear in chrome all along the upper belt line.  A single headlight is attached to the front of each fender and sports a chrome bezel.  Smaller round turn signal lights are frenched into the fronts of the fenders.  Rounded exterior mounted fenders and the hood have been painted to show the car as paint wear off and surface rusting.  It's a neat airbrushed effect and is effective and very glossy over the deep burgundy.  These fenders frame 18-inch polished American Racing Torque Thrust wheels wrapped in nice medium wide low profile rubber.  On the doors, the business and its logo and address are painted on.  For the rear fenders and trunk we see more airbrushed aging but very well minded gaps.  We see clean chrome for the rear bumper and tail light bezels and a rounded passenger compartment roofline shows the makings of an early torpedo style using an elongated oval rear glass to enhance that effect.  The car looks aged but just gleams, a very neat effect!

  Interior
A swing of the doors and we see a gray faux suede broadcloth uppers, maroon velour mid panels, and a lower gray carpeting strip.  Bakelite and chrome knobs and levers are within this field.  Slipping inside I can feel the newness of these broadcloth covered late model seats with light gray bolsters and maroon tuck and roll insert.  A wide central armrest is between these seats and in back is a perfectly preserved bench to match the front buckets for extra romper room.  These seats all float within a sea of gray carpeting.  A Grant GT rally steering wheel fronts an all steel modernized dash sporting black faced and white lettered VDO sweep gauges with black bezels.  The dash front and top are painted in the exterior Burgundy.  In the center a digital chromed radio and a few orange toggles and billet pulls.  A silver heater box remains under the dash, and a near perfect gray cloth headliner is above.

  Drivetrain
Under the bulbous airbrushed aged hood, is a 350ci V8 Chevrolet engine.  It is fed by a 4-barrel carburetor with an Edelbrock intake.  A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission is on back and power goes back and an 8-3/4 inch rear axle spins the tires.  A dual glasspack style exhaust is open for the exhale.  All is looking great under this hood with an aluminum radiator, supple wiring, and a new master cylinder.

  Undercarriage
Up on the lift we note a solid black painted X frame with black rustproofing painted floor pans.  The rockers have some surface and invasive rust but remain fairly solid.  We note some drop in repairs to the flooring along with some spray foam plugging holes that has mostly been painted black.  The inner fenders have patina paint and road dirt.  Surface rust is noted in independent coil sprung front suspension and rear leaf springs.  Power discs are now upfront, and power drums for the rear.

  Drive-Ability
A quick startup and off to the test track where it exhibited smooth acceleration, and easy steering when moving.  Bias free panic stopping is a plus and a smooth ride was had by myself.  The turn signals did not flash and the wipers do not wipe, so it's a fair weather car!

A car with an older look of airbrushed patina'd deep burgundy paint, which is a nifty adaptation and keeps the exterior gleaming.  A new updated more modern interior, and mechanically sound engine and drivetrain are what this rounded road ship is all about.  Slap your biz name on the side and let the business flow in!

      <title>1934 Plymouth Other</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/plymouth/other/1934/listing/211332</link>
<description>1934 Plymouth PE Deluxe 4-Door Sedan

Known for their elegant styling, the Plymouth PE Deluxe was a winner and the 4 door version made up 30% of all Plymouth's sales for 1934. Overall, sales were up 34% as the Depression began to wane and Plymouth rolled the millionth car off the assembly line. At just $660 new, the PE Deluxe 4 door was seen as a bargain and putting Plymouth in direct competition with Ford and Chevrolet.

For consignment, an unrestored piece of American history, a 1934 Plymouth PE Deluxe in 4 door sedan format. Here's a great example of what the PE may have looked like after years of common use and without the benefit of a modern restoration. This leaves the buyer with a number of option, but whichever road is taken, you'll have a survivor that tells the story of Plymouth's status in the automotive industry.

NO TITLE-SOLD ON A BILL OF SALE ONLY

  Exterior
Black covers the car which would have been one of six color options in 1934. In a wonderful paint chip guide from 1934, it states a black car could have had Ivory, Vermillion Red, or like our car, black wheels. The rear wheels, we note, are locked up. The paint is faded of course and shows plenty of patina with bubbles, scratches and other imperfections. Stylistically, the tall grille is flanked by headlights mounted on the fenders and the engine covers on either side have both louver and vents. The sailing ship hood ornament leans forward, as if pushed by the wind behind it, and represents the Mayflower and its moorage at Plymouth Rock. When looked at from the side, the car has a tall profile, lots of windows, and reverse hinged doors in the front and the back, something that is rather uncommon. The side mirror is a modern add on and the car retains its spare tire case mounted on the rear. The body is mostly straight but the car would benefit from a restoration of the paint and metal work.

   Interior
Tan cloth covers the inner doors topped by brown metal framed windows. A vinyl covered bench seat occupies the front and is mostly intact with some patches. The same is seen in the back where the rear passengers have vast amounts of space to move around, a footrest bar, and a corded handle latched onto the front seat back. The steering wheel and dash are in considerably good condition and the gauges with their 1930's style raised typeface and ivory faces are incredible. Various knobs and levers appear on the center of the dash which is also painted black. The glove box door is adorned with the Mayflower gliding in front of sunrays, embossed in a brass plate and the knob of the floor mounted shifter is an elegant marble like handle. The floor is covered with a rubber mat and the headliner is cloth and in good condition.

   Drivetrain
Heavily patina'd but all there, the 201.3ci L-head inline 6 cylinder was rated at 77 horsepower, a respectable number at the time and despite the size of the car, adequate for mobility. It has a 1-barrel carburetor and is tied to a 3-speed, sliding gear manual transmission which sends rotation to the rear axle and 4.375 gears. Drum brakes are located on the front and rear wheels.

   Undercarriage
In line with the condition of the car with no major structural issue that we can note. The PE's were equipped with independent suspension with coil springs in the front and leaf springs in the rear, a combination so effective, it was still used nearly 100 years later.

An elegant Plymouth from 1934 with great bones and deserving of saving, and perhaps even restored to better than new condition. The Plymouth Owners Club, founded in 1957, can help. <description>1949 Plymouth P18 Special Deluxe Convertible

When you say 40's cars you think of post war pent up spending,  but if you look at the pre Jet Age, before those fine finned beauties, you'll see enough has changed in our cars nearly 70 years on that these machines manage to feel vintage–they transport you to another era.  We also need to look at the word ''Deluxe'' which was used by virtually every car manufacturer at one point or another.  This car oozes ''Deluxe'' in many ways, like its design, embellishments, interior chrome, and curved lines.  All affordable, and a real piece of vintage iron, in need of some TLC coming from long term indoor storage and now in our overstuffed Hallowed Halls.  Now that's Deluxe in the flesh, a 1949 Plymouth P18 Special Deluxe convertible.

  Exterior
This snazzy design harkens back to a simpler time and can best be described as a presentable example with dull but intact paint and shiny chrome embellishments.  Its nose utilizes a mild V formation in triplicate plus 1 for the grille, and a bumper below that is showing light tarnish in this framing.  Big wide integrated front fenders flare inward as they move from the door panels to the front where they meet in a peaked hood with a single spear racing back toward the windshield.  All this and more steel is bathed in Kitchener Green.  Inclusions, signs of body work and bubbling is noted in the finish putting this car into the category of a 20 footer.  A split windshield fronts the newer tear free black canvas top which floats above the 2 doors this car has available for the passengers and we note a clear plastic rear window.  All rocker trimmings are solid and shiny and support the slab sided doors on either side.  The rear design of this car curves downward gracefully, and has a single V-shaped tail light emanating from each rear fender with chrome trimmed spear on top and a curved bumper on the bottom.  Nicely preserved big dog dish wheel covers are wrapped by wide white bias ply tires all around.

  Interior
Knitted green broadcloth with smooth dark green vinyl bolsters and tops covers the front and rear benches.  These present with some seam splitting, tears and light soiling.  The bench in back is flanked by smooth dark green panels dressed with bakelite and chrome cranks.  The door panels are covered in more dark green vinyl.  They have some art deco inspired chrome as well as shiny chrome handles and cranks with cream bakelite escutcheons and knobs showing nicely on this dark green background.  Up front, the full metal dash is finished in Kitchener Green and there are also plenty of beautifully chromed bezels and a horizontally mounted radio and central speaker cover that has shades of an old jukebox.   Another small curved chromed panel hangs below the dash, and houses more bakelite knobs.  This dash is very inspiring and clean, but the chome does present with some pitting.  The Kitchener Green also shows up on the door sills and center framing for the windshield.  Tan carpet floats this Art Deco interior and a big cream bakelite steering wheel is fronting the dash and it also has plenty of chromed embellishments.

  Drivetrain
Among all the other niceties this car offers up, is an unrestored appearing engine bay with a 218ci L-head inline 6-cylinder engine.  Patina abounds on the black with a black painted oil bath air cleaning system above a 1-barrel carburetor and intake.  On the back is a 3-speed manual transmission and a  3.90 geared rear axle turns the tires.

  Undercarriage
The X frame is riddled with patina and surface rust but remains solid structurally.  Rockers and floor pans are stamped steel and show repair panels for the flooring.  Independent coil spring front suspension and leaf spring rear is on, and drum brakes are seen all around.  We note a new full single exhaust system has recently been installed.

  Drive-Ability
Some TLC will be in order before ignition is achieved, as with any car out of long term storage.  We do note the engine turns by hand

Plymouth built solid cars to last in the day, and this car upholds that theory.  Bulletproof construction which was built to last and with all the chrome add ons it was sure to be a looker, and it is!  Rounded fenders and hood, and a clean interior and we are looking really good with this example.
