1937 Plymouth P50 Pickup truck - this is one RARE pickup! Now for sale by the 85 yr old owner, restorer. Plymouth, the division of Chrysler that started in 1928 and was shut down in 2001, was never known for trucks. It built trucks for such a short period -- from 1935 to 1942 -- and only dabbled in them again with the easy-to-forget Trail Duster front-wheel-drive car-pickup in the mid 1970s. The 1937 Plymouth PT-50 half-ton pickup, which cost $525, was by far the most popular 1937 Plymouth truck. Nearly 11,000 were built for the model year. Standard equipment included safety glass all around, a spare wheel nestled in the right front fender, and a six-foot-long pickup box, about four feet wide. Power for the 1937 Plymouth PT-50 half-ton pickup came from the Plymouth L-head six with 70 horsepower - this truck, however, has an upgraded 1952 Dodge engine increasing the HP to about 100 or so. The three-speed floor-mounted transmission had silent helical gears in second speed.Options for the 1937 Plymouth PT-50 half-ton pickup included a rear bumper, bumper guards, left-hand spare wheel mount (providing dual side mounts), right-hand windshield wiper, and chrome windshield frame. This particular truck was a born and raised California truck and was never exposed to the harsh weather of the Northeast. The 85 yr old owner has lovingly restored the truck and now has it up for sale. Some of the work that was done on the truck is listed below. All new wire harness from Rhode Island Wire Co. New headlight bulbs and reflectors, and the optional Fog LightsAdded directionals, front and rear - the fronts are mounted under the bumper and are courtesy of Harley Davidson. New steering box, New leaf Springs (Posie), all new leather interior, All new paint, Coker radial tires - Bias ply tires are available, kill switch, electric gas pump, alternator upgrade, new gauges done by DMC, and the truck comes with a cover.

1937 Plymouth p4 2 door coupe. Here's the full disclosure. I will try to include every detail i know about this car. If I dont answer all of your questions in this ad, then you'll just have to come over and take a look and answer the rest of your questions while you look at it. I am literally posting everything I know about this car. So it won't do you any good to text or call me with questions. (Except to get the address). Again... you just have to come look at it. This car was built out in like 1993 or 1994. Its at the point where it needs the next owner to strip it down and give it the once over, and just redo everything to their liking, and make it their own. OR... a guy could just do a few minor things to it and drive it like it is. I still run errands around town in it quite often. It's the perfect project for the guy that likes to tinker in the garage and fix up old hot rods. Would also make a great father / son project. Has a Chevy small block 400 with about 40,000 to 50,000 miles on it. It was a fresh rebuild when put in the car. It could use a little minor attention. (Like timing slightly adjusted. Fix a leaky gasket. Ect.) Nothing major. Edelbrock 4bbl carb, valve covers and air cleaner. Has dual exhaust. Muncie 4 spd. transmission. Could use a little linkage adjustment so it shifts better. But no major issues with it. Clutch is fine. Has a mid 80's Ford mustang 2 rack and pinion front end under it. With power steering. Needs a leaky seal fixed, and new shocks / shock bushings. Has a gm tilt steering column in it. Needs turn signal switch replaced, but turn signals do work. I dont know what rear end is in it. E-brake doesn't work. The rear leaf springs need to be re-arched, or replaced. It still drives around town just fine, you just can't get real aggressive with the gas pedal. The body is in great shape considering its age. I have only found two small spots where the rust has made it through the body panel. (See pics).
