Few cars capture the spirit of late 1960s American performance like this 1969 Plymouth Road Runner. Finished in its factory Rallye Green Metallic, it turns heads with paint-matched steel wheels that stay true to its period look. With just over 61,000 miles, this Road Runner has been carefully enjoyed and remains remarkably clean and well-preserved, showing only minimal signs of age.

Beneath the hood sits the famous 383 cubic inch four-barrel V8 teamed with a factory 4-speed manual transmission. This combination delivers the raw, mechanical connection that made Mopars legendary. The Rallye-style instrument cluster and power-assisted brakes keep the driver in touch and in control, while the rear axle setup gives a lively, responsive feel on the open road.

The black vinyl interior stays true to the car's no-nonsense personality. Hit the "Beep Beep!" horn and you are instantly reminded of the icon that inspired it. Every panel and detail reflects Mopar heritage and the Road Runner's reputation as a muscle car built to be driven.

For enthusiasts looking for a real slice of classic American performance, this Road Runner offers the full experience. It combines distinctive styling, a commanding engine, and unfiltered driving excitement in a package you can truly enjoy.

1969 Plymouth Roadrunner. It was featured in a film called residual alibi. I do have the numbers matching 383 on a stand in very good running condition. I have the original 727 that has been rebuilt and sitting on a shelf currently both will come with the car. The car currently has a 512 Stroker motor in it. It has a still crank, Eagle HP rods, forged pistons, Edelbrock dual plane intake, 950 double Pumper, trick flow heads with roller rockers, brand new ceramic coated Doug headers and two half inch exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers. To keep the Drone out the rear of the car and not in the car. The rear end has a 276 Sure Grip. A 125 horse nitrous kit, two Holly fuel pumps one feeding the motor and one feeding the nitrous. Brand new fuel tank and pick up. Brand new 3/8 line all the way from tank to motor. Brand new complete wiring harness every single thing works in the car! It has a hundred and 120 amp one wire alternator. So the only thing there is the meter inside the car shows discharge but you can easily check there is 14 volts being put right to the battery! All your headlights, side markers, when should wipers, throttle kick down, everything works great this car rides and drives like brand new if not better. It also has subframe connectors, KYB front shock, and coil over rear shocks, the car is an original color inside and out. It came from the factory with a 727 automatic torque flight with the console on the floor. The 727 has been built with all the upgrades and has a 2500 stall converter from FTI that was $850 stall converter and it works beautifully. High torque mini starter, aluminum radiator, all brand new brakes and lines, new alternator, new water pump, new ignition system wires and plugs, recent oil change, Valvoline racing oil only with added zinc to protect the flat tap at cam. Those specs can be found on 440 source.com it is the largest flat topic can they have. But yet it idles great.

1969 Plymouth Road Runner Hardtop

For consignment, a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner hardtop showing 79,054 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This bright car is dressed as a GTX but shares the legendary B-body platform of Mopar's venerable muscle cars of the era.

 Exterior
One of the impact colors, two stage Sublime Green coats the car accented with black features that includes the rocker panel, the vinyl top, and wide hood stripes that cross the gap and continue on the fender tops. Plymouth is expressed on the rear fenders Superbird style and a GTX emblem has been added to each rear quarter panel. It also appears on the rear decklid trim, a design feature that adds some interest between the muscular, square tail lights that hug the ends, all underscored by a straight chrome bumper over twin exhaust tips. 15-inch steel wheels are colored keyed to the body and correct dog dish hubcaps finish this clean rounded feature, while a red pinstripe flows through the lower black trim to match that on the grille and hood vents. Someone was green with envy and a key mark runs down the side and through the Plymouth decal, and this is the only imperfection we find.

 Interior
The black grains that are part of the simulated woodgrain inserts on the door are a perfect match for the painted and vinyl panel and result in handsome doors that welcome you into the car, both in great shape. Black vinyl bucket seats and the rear bench also present cleanly and the rear passengers also get to enjoy black and wood sidewalls. Up front, a three spoke steering wheel shares its column with a Sunpro tachometer while the instrument cluster on the dash presents as original, including the horizontal speedometer that tops out at 150 mph. Extra gauges are added below for water and oil and an AM radio with 8 track fits in the woodgrain panel under the vent and air toggles. A shifter in the faux woodgrain faced center console is canted rearward and a plaque warns not to open windows above 120mph. We got black carpet below with GTX branded mats and a nice headliner above, complete with shoulder belts clipped into place. The Sublime walled trunk is spotless and covered with a plaid vinyl mat.

 Drivetrain
A Holley 4-barrel sits atop the clean 440ci under the hood with Roadrunner air cleaner cover on top of that. Behind it, we find an A727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic routing power to the 8 ¾" rear with 3.54 gears. Our GTX clone is fitted with power brakes, discs in front and drums in back.

 Undercarriage
We have clean conditions underneath with typical patina and no errant fluids present. Dual exhaust starts with headers that take on FlowMaster mufflers before terminating at chrome tips in the back. Suspension here is torsion bar in front and leaf springs in back and we note slight invasive rust in the rear unibody rails over top the axle.

 Drive-Ability
Running wise, this car garners no complaints from us. It has more than adequate power and runs straight and true and enters turns with the typical B-body roll, but sure footed and confident. We note several things not working including the factory tachometer, the heater blower, and radio. We detect a rattle that seems to be exhaust against the body. The drivers' side rear window only operates from the rear switch and doesn't go back up while the passenger rear window sticks during its travels. Beyond these things, all else works as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Can't decide if you want a GTX or a Roadrunner? Well, now you have two in one, a car that left the St. Louis plant as a Roadrunner now appears as a GTX, and just like any good Elvis impersonator, the jumpsuit is still sparkles impressively! This is a great looking car that runs well too and if you're ready to make others green with envy, it might be Sublime time for you.

1969 Plymouth Road Runner
The Road Runner was introduced in 1968 and produced through 1980. As the 60's came to an end a lot of muscle cars were moving away from their roots as they gained new features and became more expensive. Plymouth released the Road Runner in an effort to keep the muscle car era alive by going back to the basics and focusing on performance. To use the name, likeness and "beep beep" sound from the popular Wile E. Coyote cartoon, Plymouth gave Warner Bros $50,000 and also went on to spend $10,000 more developing a special horn. The first generation was from 1968 to 1970. They expected to sell 20,000 units in '68 but clearly underestimated things as the production went up to 45,000. It was clear the market responded well and the Road Runner rose to the 3rd highest selling muscle car. In 1969 they kept that same original look with slight changes to the taillights and grill. This very cool 1969 Road Runner had a professionally done frame on restoration by Wonder Lake Rod and Customs. It belonged to a private Mopar collection at the time and was done in a restomod style. The idea was to retain a mostly stock look but have a more modern drivetrain with modern performance. The body is extremely straight and is all rust free. It is painted in Sunfire Yellow which has a very nice shine. All of the original chrome bumpers have an excellent shine as does the window trim, light trim and the unique 1969 grill. It has all of its original style Road Runner badging and logos cleanly in place. The glass is slightly tinted and free from any damage or issues. The car sits on a set of nice 15 inch Magnum 500 wheels with Mickey Thompson Street S/S tires.
The only thing indicating the car is not stock is the scooped hood which looks great. Pop that hood and that is where the fun really begins. This thing is now powered by Mopar Performance 500 Wedge 500+ hp crate motor that runs great. It has been fitted with lots of chrome/billet components, an MSD ignition system, Holly Sniper EFI carburetor and very cool Black finned Mopar Performance valve covers and air cleaner. Keeping it running cool is the aluminum Be Cool radiator with dual electric fans. The car sounds great through ceramic coated headers into H-pipe dual exhaust. Mated to the transmission is a Tremec 5 speed transmission that sends power back to the Dana 60 rear end. During the build the brakes (disc front) were all gone through and it also has all new suspension components. It has power steering as well making it a smooth driving classic to cruise around in. Then when it's time to show off you can put your foot into it and this car performs.
The interior is complete with nice Tan upholstery that is in great condition. It has factory bucket seats with lap belts and they show zero sign of wear. It has a factory floor shifter that moves through the gears smoothly and mounted next to it are controls for the EFI carb. The dash is all upholstered and painted to match the rest and has a mostly stock layout. Below the dash is a Vintage Air AC/Heat system, which blows cold, and an oil pressure gauge. On the original column is mounted an aftermarket mini Sunsuper Tach II and the original 3 spoke wheel with Road Runner horn button. The trunk is all nicely painted to match the body and has a factory style mat.
