      <title>1970 Plymouth Superbird</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/plymouth/superbird/1970/listing/255131</link>
<description>INTRODUCTION: Authenticated by a David Wise Elite Validation Report, this is the real deal! It is a genuine Superbird with its original body numbers in place, original fender tag, and all the key identifiers collectors want to see. Finished in its highly desirable factory color combination, it features a correct 440 Super Commando engine, VIN-matching 727 TorqueFlite transmission, and an exceptional level of detail throughout. From the beautifully restored interior and highly detailed engine compartment to the solid, well sorted underside and iconic aerodynamic styling, this Superbird checks all the boxes. Whether you're looking for a blue-chip Mopar investment or one of the most recognizable muscle cars ever built, this authentic winged warrior is a standout example that will be the centerpiece of any collection. The Superbird is one of the most recognizable muscle cars ever built, and its radical aerodynamic design remains just as captivating today as it was in 1970.

EXTERIOR: The extended aerodynamic nose cone, towering rear wing, and stretched profile were developed for high speed NASCAR competition, giving the car a look unlike anything else on the road. This example presents exceptionally well, with outstanding fit and finish throughout. The body is laser straight with no signs of rust, damage, or poor bodywork. Repainted in its factory correct B5 Blue, the finish is laid out evenly across the entire car and polished to a smooth, glossy shine. The bold Superbird graphics and decals are crisp and vibrant, perfectly complementing the dramatic styling. The black vinyl top looks like new, weatherstrips have been replaced, and the windshield is crystal clear. Additional details include the correct antenna, dual mirrors, and a beautifully rechromed rear bumper. Completing the iconic appearance is a set of 15 inch Rallye wheels wrapped in reproduction Goodyear Polyglas tires, giving the car the exact stance and look it had in 1970.

INTERIOR: The highly desirable factory white interior is the perfect complement to the B5 Blue exterior, creating one of the most striking and recognizable color combinations available on a Superbird. The interior is in excellent condition throughout. The white upholstery on the seats and door panels is fresh and presents beautifully, while the carpet on the floor is clean and well kept. The white painted metal trim on the doors is finished nicely and matches the rest of the interior. The entire dash area is in outstanding condition, with the knobs, factory AM radio, and Rallye gauge cluster all looking great. Mounted neatly below the dash is a pair of AutoMeter Sport-Comp gauges, providing more precise readings while blending well with the car's muscle car character. The steering wheel features the desirable "beep-beep" horn button, a signature Road Runner touch. As with all Superbirds, the unique rear window design required a custom headliner and rear package shelf, both of which are in excellent shape. Overall, the interior is exceptionally well restored.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine bay is restored and detailed to a highly authentic factory appearance. At its heart is the correct 440 Super Commando rated at 375 horsepower. It is presented exactly as enthusiasts like to see them, featuring the stock exhaust manifolds, factory valve covers, restored air cleaner assembly, and even reproduction spark plug wires. The engine runs smooth, starts easily, and delivers strong performance. The wiper motor is detailed properly, the windshield squirters are hooked up, and the engine compartment is complete right down to the small details. The cooling system has been upgraded with an aluminum radiator while maintaining a stock appearance. It also features the distinctive Road Runner "beep-beep" horns, which are operational, and a factory style battery topper for an original appearance. Power steering and power brakes make this winged warrior much more enjoyable to drive. The entire engine compartment is finished in glossy body color B5 Blue and presents exceptionally well. A major plus for collectors is the presence of the hidden VIN stamping on the core support, not all Superbirds got that #. The original fender tag remains in place, further supporting the car's authenticity. The hood insulation is installed, and the compartment has been detailed with factory style assembly line markings and inspection stamps throughout.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk is exceptionally clean, complete, and detailed throughout. Under the trunk lid, in the jamb, and inside the trunk, everything is finished in body color B5 Blue. It features a reproduction trunk mat, correct decals, and a fresh weatherstrip. One detail many Superbirds are missing is the complete jack setup, but this one has both original style jacks in place. Because the Superbird has a chrome rear bumper but no front bumper due to the aerodynamic nose cone, it was equipped with both a bumper jack and a scissors jack from the factory. Adding to its authenticity, the trunk contains the proper blue painted spare wheel wrapped with a reproduction Goodyear tire, along with the complete jack assembly. The metal wing support braces are also present. It also retains its hidden VIN under the weatherstrip.

UNDERSIDE: It is solid, clean, and well sorted. The floors, frame rails, and structural components are in excellent condition, with the floors neatly coated in factory style undercoating. The steering and suspension systems have been thoroughly inspected and sorted, making it ready to be enjoyed on the road. The brake system features front disc brakes and rear drums, and the emergency brake assembly is properly hooked up and functional. The exhaust system has been restored with a factory style reproduction setup, including the crossover pipe, correct mufflers, and chrome exhaust tips. The fuel tank has been replaced, and gas shocks have been added for improved ride quality.

      <title>1970 Plymouth Superbird</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/plymouth/superbird/1970/listing/254609</link>
<description>INTRODUCTION: #s match motor and trans. Documented with 2 build sheets, 1971 bill of sale, Galen Govier fender tag decode and a hardcover restoration book. Sold new at Al Davenport Plymouth in VA, then in 1971 it was traded back in. The 2nd owner kept it for 41 years. The 3rd owner had a 1.5 year restoration performed. An added perk is the signed visor by the legend that made this car historic- Richard Petty!

EXTERIOR: From the aerodynamic nose cone to the towering rear wing, it remains one of the most iconic and recognizable muscle cars ever built. What makes this one even more special is that it retains its original body panels complete with their original body numbers, along with its original nose cone and wing. The body was stripped down, its laser beam straight, smooth down to the rockers, and the panels fit beautifully throughout. It has been refinished in its original Blue Fire Metallic. The metallic is laid out evenly, and the clear coat has been polished to a smooth, glossy finish. The bold Superbird graphics and blackout headlight doors have been correctly reapplied, while the vinyl top has been replaced for a fresh appearance. The windshield, trim, and weatherstripping are all in excellent. Completing the authentic presentation is a set of reproduction Polyglas tires mounted on the correct 14-inch Rally wheels, giving the car the exact stance and appearance that it has in 1970.

INTERIOR: This separates it from many other Superbirds! Not only does it feature the highly desirable factory white interior, but it's also a bucket seat car equipped with a factory console- a combination that is both rare and valuable. The interior has been restored to a high standard with firm seat cushions and fresh upholstery. The door panels, armrests, carpeting, and headliner have all been replaced, giving the cabin a fresh, crisp appearance while maintaining its factory correct look. The dash is in excellent condition and is equipped with a full set of Rally gauges, a deluxe steering wheel and a rare factory AM/FM radio. Down on the floor are embroidered mats, while the working interior lights and complete set of factory seat belts further demonstrate the completeness of the restoration.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Yes, this is a beautifully restored, factory correct engine compartment that you may find in other Superbirds. What truly separates this one from the crowd is what's sitting between the fenders- its original VIN # matching 440-375hp Super Commando engine! It remains dressed exactly as it should, featuring the correct stock manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner assembly, and factory components throughout. Everything has been restored to a like new appearance. The engine bay is finished in the correct gloss blue paint, matching the exterior of the car. It is equipped with power steering and power brakes, making it both desirable and enjoyable to drive. It even retains the famous "Beep Beep" Road Runner horn, the windshield washer system is hooked up, the wiper motor has been professionally restored, the battery is properly secured, and the original fender tag remains attached in its proper location. The cooling system features the correct Mopar radiator, proper fan shroud, and reproduction clamps.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is clean and complete. With a Superbird the completeness factor is important. One detail many people don't realize is that these cars were equipped with two different jacks- a bumper jack for the rear and a scissors jack for the front. Finding a Superbird with both of them still present is becoming increasingly rare, but this one retains the complete setup. It also includes a matching 14-inch Rally wheel fitted with a Goodyear Polyglas tire for a spare, another detail collectors appreciate. Under the deck lid and throughout the trunk compartment, everything is finished in gloss blue paint to match the exterior. The metal is clean and solid, and the compartment is properly detailed with reproduction decals, a fresh weatherstrip, and the correct trunk mat.

UNDERSIDE: The underside of this Superbird is rock solid and beautifully restored. The steering and suspension systems have been rebuilt and upgraded with gas shocks for improved ride quality. The brake system has been completely redone and features front disc brakes, a functional emergency brake, and stainless steel brake and fuel lines. It is also equipped with a stainless steel fuel tank. The exhaust system consists of polished stainless steel dual pipes with a crossover and DynoMax mufflers, providing both durability and a great sound. Looking up at the engine, everything is clean and proper. The casting numbers and matching VIN stamp are clearly visible on the side of the block, verifying the originality of the powerplant. The 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission is also VIN-matching to the car. Out back is the original 8¾-inch rear end fitted with 3.23 Sure Grip gears. The floors, frame rails, and structural components all appear to be rock-solid original metal. Much of the factory undercoating remains intact and has been lightly freshened for a clean, well-maintained appearance. Overall, the underside is highly detailed, authentic, and exactly what you hope to find beneath a genuine Superbird.

SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and our reputation. Every vehicle goes through our service department where it is inspected, test driven, and we address the essentials before offering it for sale.

CONCLUSION: They couldn't give these cars away when they were new, but today their outrageous styling makes them one of the most sought after muscle cars ever built. This Superbird represents the best of the breed, combining authenticity, desirable options, extensive documentation, great colors, and a #s matching drivetrain. If you're looking for a Superbird that checks all the boxes, you'll be hard pressed to find a better example.
