EXTERIOR: The body was taken all the way down to a bare shell and mounted on a rotisserie so it could be restored from every angle. The results are phenomenal! The body is laser beam straight, the gaps are square and precise, and I couldn't find a dimple or pimple anywhere. It features the functional dual scoop hood, dual sport mirrors, and front and rear spoilers, giving it some Firebird attitude. The bright red paint is polished like glass and absolutely pops. It's topped with an upgraded rich tan German cloth convertible top, which gives the car a classy contrast. The chrome and exterior trim have been replaced, along with the weatherstrips and windshield. Finishing off the look are 18-inch Billet Specialties wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich G-Force performance tires. INTERIOR: This is a full blown custom interior done with class. It's upholstered throughout in genuine leather, with custom bolstered seats featuring a beautiful two-tone design and Firebird embroidery. The deluxe door panels were tastefully modified to complement the rest of the interior. Beautiful high gloss burl wood trim is incorporated into the dash, console and door panels, giving the interior a rich, upscale appearance. The color matched dash features a full set of custom gauges, a tilt column with a Billet Specialties steering wheel that matches the wheels. Amenities include heated seats, power windows, Vintage Air climate controls and a touchscreen stereo system with speakers and tweeters inside the car, plus additional equipment in the trunk. Premium carpeting covers the floor and is protected by custom mats. Dynamat insulation and new wiring were installed during the build, and bright interior lighting adds another custom touch. Even the convertible boot was made to match the pattern and upholstery of the seats. This interior was clearly designed as a complete package, not just a collection of upgrades. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Performance built and show detailed! The 400 was completely built, blueprinted and balanced by the Pontiac engine experts at Butler Performance, then dyno tested at an impressive 550 horsepower. It features desirable 6X heads with roller rockers, an aluminum intake and Holley dual-feed carburetor topped with a functional Ram Air induction system. MSD ignition provides the spark. Because of the healthy cam, a vacuum pump and reservoir were added to provide dependable vacuum for the power brakes. The front of the engine is dressed with a polished Front Runner system featuring billet brackets, serpentine pulleys, polished A/C compressor, alternator and power steering. Butler aluminum valve covers add a nice finishing touch. It also features coated headers, a remote power steering cooler, polished overflow bottle and Selecta-Speed wiper upgrade. An aluminum radiator with dual electric fans keeps everything cool. The engine bay itself is beautifully finished in glossy red, making the entire compartment look every bit as impressive as the performance it delivers. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Open the trunk and you'll find a completely custom finished compartment that's boxed and carpeted. A custom molded fiberglass display is built into the front of the trunk, neatly showcasing two Alpine amplifiers along with stereo system hardware. The subwoofers are integrated into the carpeted side panels, giving the entire installation a clean, finished appearance while still leaving usable trunk space. The underside of the trunk lid is finished with a custom upholstered panel, and working trunk lights come on automatically when the lid is opened. UNDERSIDE: This car was stripped down and flipped on a rotisserie for a complete restoration. The entire front subframe was stripped and rebuilt with serious upgrades, including Global West tubular control arms, coilover adjustable gas shocks, quick ratio steering box and a custom sway bar. Low profile frame connectors tie the front and rear together for added rigidity. In back are lowering leaf springs with upgraded bushings, adjustable gas shocks and another custom sway bar. The already great lines of the '68 Firebird are enhanced with a scooped hood, working hood tachometer, and front and rear spoilers accented with a carbon fiber wrap. The body is clean and straight with beautiful fit and finish. That gorgeous blue metallic is laid out evenly and polished practically like a blue mirror. There's no vinyl top to interrupt the sleek profile. The front and rear glass have been replaced, the stainless trim is polished, and it appears all of the chrome was replaced, including the bumpers, mirrors and emblems. Even the weatherstrips and window seals were replaced. I've always thought the Pontiac arrowhead marker lights on the quarter panels were one of the coolest little styling details on these cars. Then there's the stance- and it absolutely makes the car. It's sitting on Forgeline wheels, 19x10s in front and 20x12s in back, with a seriously deep dish look that gives it an aggressive presence. They're wrapped in Toyo performance tires. INTERIOR: I'm sitting in these super comfortable and very stylish TMI bucket seats, upholstered in black with Alcantara centers and contrasting blue stitching. The back seat is upholstered to match. The side panels and armrests have been replaced, along with the dash pad. The instrument panel is clean and upgraded with VHX gauges, while the center console looks new and is upgraded with an overdrive selector. A Kenwood stereo plays through 6x9 speakers in back, and the antenna is cleverly hidden. The carpet and headliner both look good, the rearview mirror is new, and a great looking steering wheel features a comfortable leather wrapped grip. Overall, it's a sharp, thoughtfully upgraded interior that's not only great looking, but extremely comfortable. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is a high performance 5.3-liter LS putting out well over 400 horsepower! It's upgraded with a BTR cam, FAST intake with a 92mm throttle body, custom cold-air intake and Dynatech coated headers. A serpentine Front Runner system includes air conditioning, a modern alternator and modern power steering. An electric fan helps keep it running cool, while a Wilwood master cylinder handles the brakes. The smooth firewall and billet hinges give the engine bay a clean custom appearance. It's a strong running, well engineered package that looks as good as it performs. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk is rock solid and clean throughout. The underside of the trunk lid and jamb are painted slick, the weatherstrip has been replaced, and a fitted carpet mat finishes the floor. The battery has been neatly relocated to the trunk, and billet trunk hinges add a nice custom touch. UNDERSIDE: The suspension is completely upgraded with a full RideTech setup. Up front it has tubular control arms, adjustable RideTech coilover gas shocks, and a splined sway bar. Out back is a 4-link suspension with tubular control arms, adjustable RideTech coilovers, and a splined sway bar. Frame connectors tie the front and back together and prevent body twist. Stopping power is impressive with Wilwood big brakes featuring drilled and slotted discs at all four wheels, 6-piston calipers up front and 4-piston calipers in back. The fuel system was upgraded with a new tank and is set up to properly support the fuel-injected engine. A fat dual exhaust runs through a crossover pipe and MagnaFlow mufflers. Looking up at the motor, it has an aluminum oil pan and a high-torque starter. That's paired with a 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission and a custom Fast Shafts driveshaft, which leads back to a Ford 9-inch rear end. The floors have been restored, blacked out, and present very nicely. Overall, the underside has been thoroughly upgraded with modern performance components and has a clean, well finished appearance. Every component was rebuilt or restored. Aside from its impressive condition it's a great car! It is a very attractive convertible that is ready to be driven and enjoyed. EXTERIOR: Zero rust! NOS fenders, door skins and ¼ panels professionally installed and precisely fitted. Upgraded with a functional ram air hood and a hood tachometer. Painted a bright shade of white and every square inch is polished like glass. The jambs and even the rear wheel wells are gloss white. All of the chrome and stainless trim was restored to show quality by Finishing Touch. It has the correct antenna and a remote mirror. New emblems and the ram air emblems were custom made and are copied after the original ram air prototype emblems. New date coded windshield and weatherstrips. The power convertible frame was painted and a new black top was installed. It has reproduction T-3 headlights and reproduction Firestone redline tires wrapped around a new set of Rally ll wheels. INTERIOR: The red deluxe interior pops against the white! It is restored just as meticulously as the exterior. New deluxe molded door panels and deluxe upholstery over new cushions. On the floor it has fresh carpet, reproduction GM seat belts and a reproduction console with an overdrive shift indicator. The dash pad is new and the dash area all looks great. It has a reproduction deluxe wheel and a set of Sunpro gauges mounted neatly under the ashtray. All of the interior lights work. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is a period correct 350 H.O. motor Dyno tuned at 320hp. It was completely rebuilt: bored 30 over, 10:1 compression, roller cam and rockers, Ram Air IV aluminum intake, correct exhaust manifolds and rebuilt #s matching 4 barrel carb. The distributor is upgraded with MSD Ready to Run electronic ignition with reproduction plug wires and the alternator is even # matching. On top is a complete ram air induction system. The cooling system was upgraded with an aluminum radiator and dual electric fans. The hoses, clamps and battery cables are reproduction. Features include power steering and power brakes. Everything is restored and proper, the squirters are even hooked up. All the surfaces are painted neatly, it is detailed! TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted slick like the car. Inside is pristine metal that has been neatly spatter painted. The weatherstrip and well liner are new. UNDERSIDE: Body off chassis, complete restoration and detailed like new! There is zero rust under this car, all new metal professionally installed and then sprayed in the correct primer. Every single component was removed, replaced or rebuilt. All of the steering and suspension is completely rebuilt and detailed. It has a reproduction Gardener exhaust system with dual mufflers and the transverse muffler. The fuel system has been completely replaced including the tank and the lines. The brake system has been completely redone with correct four piston calipers and two-piece discs in front, the e-brake assembly and lines were replaced. Looking up at the motor it is still fresh. Upgraded with a 200R4 overdrive, performance built at Jimmy's Performance Trans capable of handling 700 horsepower. It has all steel internal parts and a 2200 stall converter. A rebuilt drive shaft leads back to the completely rebuilt rear end with Strange 3.55 posi gears and Yukon axles. SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car we sell. CONCLUSION: I can personally attest to the quality of this car, I know the shop that restored it does not compromise their work. The owner of the car was not willing to cut corners either. He checked on his car everyday mon-fri for 6 years! He only sold the car because he bought a collection of 5 Camaros he couldn't pass up.
