1983 Rolls Royce Corniche

1983 Rolls Royce Corniche. This is a really nice, only 36,112 true miles, factory original, garage kept, Rolls-Royce dealer serviced, 1983 Rolls-Royce Corniche I Drop Head Coupe that shows, runs and drives great! I'd say overall this Corniche is a solid 9 out of 10 and is a reliable daily driver... I have yet to polish out the inside of the convertible top plastic rear window as its been neglected. For a few hundred dollars it can be replaced...As you can order a zipper in and out replacement...My thoughts are if I keep the Corniche, this Spring I'll replace the original factory 'black' top with a new 'red' one to accent the red pin strip and red interior piping. Keep in mind: The mechanical and electrical systems in this Corniche are not complex and not computer controlled requiring dealership only service... Any 'old school' mechanically inclined person should be able to maintain and service this Corniche! I'm including a new Rolls-Royce WORKSHOP MANUAL which details most everything one should know to maintain this Corniche as Rolls-Royce intended. 2024 Inspection Report indicating nothing more then a couple dozen minor paint scratches that polished out. Confirming the Corniche was received by the previous Owner in sound condition. The Corniche I, was available as coupé or convertible, used the standard Rolls-Royce V8 engine with an aluminum-silicon alloy block and aluminum cylinder heads with cast iron wet cylinder liners. The bore was 4.1 in (104.1 mm) and the stroke was 3.9 in (99.1 mm) for a total of 6.75 L (6,750 cc/411 cu in). Twin SU carburetors were initially fitted, but were replaced with a single Solex 4A1 four-barrel carburetor introduced in 1977. De-smoged export models retained the twin SUs until 1980, when Bosch fuel injection was added. A three-speed automatic transmission (a Turbo Hydramatic 400 sourced from General Motors) was standard. A four-wheel independent suspension with coil springs was augmented with a hydraulic self-levelling system

1985 Rolls Royce Corniche

1985 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible – “Horse Chestnut” Elegance This 1985 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible is, in a word, incredible — both to see and to drive. Presented in near factory-new condition, this Corniche exudes timeless elegance and embodies the craftsmanship that defines the Rolls-Royce name. Exterior & Color: Finished in a rare and striking “Horse Chestnut” metallic paint, this color truly comes alive in the sunlight — a rich, refined tone that beautifully complements the car’s elegant lines. The convertible top remains in excellent condition, fitting tightly and presenting beautifully. Interior: Inside, the leather upholstery is supple and well-preserved, with no major wear or cracking. The dash pad is excellent, showing no cracks, and the wood veneers retain their warm, classic glow. All gauges are functional, with the exception of the fuel gauge, which is currently inoperative. Mechanical Condition: Powered by the legendary Rolls-Royce 6.75-liter V8, the Corniche runs and drives smoothly and quietly, just as a Rolls should. The air conditioning system is intact and holding refrigerant, though the compressor clutch is not currently engaging — likely a simple fix involving a fuse, relay, or pressure switch (Rolls-Royce used GM-sourced compressors for this system). Additional Details: Odometer shows 45,759 miles, though the previous owner noted the odometer cable stopped functioning a few years ago. The car has seen minimal use since. Recent service (August) includes: New power steering rack Wheel alignment New starter New battery This Corniche Convertible perfectly illustrates the unmistakable quality and grace of Rolls-Royce in the 1980s — hand-built luxury, effortless power, and a presence that commands admiration. A truly exceptional example for the discerning collector or enthusiast. Important Information – Please Read Before Inquiring Vehicle Location: This vehicle is located at our client's home, not in Cadillac, Michigan.
