This one checks all the boxes for stance, color, and overall good looks that just scream fun!  Note: This vehicle is sold with a Maryland reconstructed branding on the title Exterior If you're going to be out in the sun, you might as well wear its color as this fiberglass body buggy does and there's no fancy name for it other than Yellow! It's still open wheeled but integrated fenders form a tall canopy over each wheel preventing sand from being kicked in your face. The aluminum slot type wheels are 14-inch and carry 205/75R14 tires and along with the suspension, lift the car off the ground so you can clear egg laying sea turtles, sand castles, sidewinder rattlesnakes and anything else your sand adventures encounter. Cuteness comes from the bugeye headlights with one noted as winking slightly and might need a nut tightened while marker lights are mounted in front and round tail lights in back. The black plastic roof keeps the sun off your skin and of course, can be removed. The exterior is in great shape with no noticeable imperfections.  Interior Typically sparse, you'll climb over the sidewall and find a seat in one of the two black cloth bucket seats and we recommend the left one. There, you'll be supplied with a three spoke steering wheel and single VDO gauge up front along with a few indicator lights and knobs in the formed fiberglass panel. The floor is black and barren and the transmission tunnel holds the shifter. This example has a cargo bed with side rails so you can carry towels, your cooler, and driftwood for your beach bonfire.  Drivetrain Out back is a 1500cc flat four cylinder with a 1-barrel carburetor and a 4-speed manual transmission.  Power is kept in the back where it travels through 4.1235 gearing and the car runs on a 12 volt system.  Undercarriage Clean, driver quality underneath with lots of belly pan real estate and tubular framing. The dual exhaust has no mufflers on board and exits through two tips out back. Disc brakes up front and drums in the rear while both front and back suspension is independent with a transverse torsion bar up front and semi trailing arm and transverse torsion bar in the back.  Drive-Ability No dunes in landlocked Morgantown, so our flat tarmac will have to do. The flat four does its thing and provides plenty of power while the car tracks straight and handles turns well and we can only imagine the rear tires fishtailing through the sand. We note the one gauge is not working and it includes a speedometer, odometer and trip odometer, and of course, that loose headlight up front moves around quite a bit. All other functions operate as they should and we scoot this yellow toy back to the mall. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Driving an open dune buggy is about as close to living out your childhood dreams as you can get. This time, it has a gas pedal instead of bike pedals, an internal combustion engine instead of rechargeable six volt battery, and real capabilities to go some distance! Gnarly, ( but that word had not been invented yet so lets just say groovy!). Note: This vehicle is sold with a Make of "Reconstructed" on the title. Please check with your local, county, state, province, or country DMV for proper titling procedures*** Note: This vehicle contains a reissued VIN*** Exterior In tune with the times, metalflake blue bathes fiberglass body parts which were molded to mimic the original Meyers Manx.  Sporting a fender and running board design, this "Buggy", (after Bug), has a squared off hood and grille, is bumpered in chrome, and has a low door line without an actual door, (Hop in ladies).  Open fenders melt into a mini running board which continues as the rear fenders round their way above the rear wheels.  The back of the buggy has a faux spare tire covering which hides the rear VW engine.  Flanking this tire covering are the rear fenders with the elephant footprint tail lights.  Below is a dual bar undulating chrome bumper with chromed dual exhaust just above.  This buggy sports a white convertible top which attaches in front to a large framed rectangular picture window front glass, and has a plastic rear window.  When in the down position, a rear storage area is noted, this one is sporting speakers for the stereo.  14 and 15-inch chromed deep dish steel wheels with central moon caps complete the look and now its time to go play some beach blanket bingo! Interior Let the sun shine in as it is close to the dawning of the age Aquarius.  It can bathe upon low back bomber style racing bucket seats covered in black vinyl with triangular stitched tufting and buttons in their intersections.  This abounds throughout on the door panels and rear bench.  A rally steering wheel fronts the metal flake fiberglass dash which has basically 2 rectangular padded black vinyl panels within a field of blue. These panels have the speedometer, fuel gauge and some lights and knobs and a pull.  In front of the passenger is another panel which has a green LCD digital Micronta clock/tachometer and canted towards the driver volt and oil pressure gauges.  Below the dash over here is also a Jensen AM/FM/CD player stereo.  Nice thick pile carpeting covers the floors and make sure to dip your feet into the Pacific before entering as I don't want sand in this thing...Oh wait, it's NOT a THING, it's a Buggy! Drivetrain In back is the VW 1600cc engine with a recently overhauled 2-barrel carb and 4-speed manual transmission.  The rear axle is a 4.120 final drive.  The engine has headers and not much else to tell but it works great! Undercarriage A sturdy VW frame with 4 wheel independent suspension, drum braking and no rust for the floor pans, just rustproofing is seen while up in the air.  Our consignor notes that the brake system has been recently flushed, has new wheel cylinders. new shoes, and new hardware as well.  The wheel bearings have been recently repacked and we see a new fuel filter for the recently flushed fuel lines.  Tubular headers handle the exhale with the assistance of glasspack style mufflers. Drive-Ability Sounds like a VW, handles like a VW, steers and shifts like a VW but has the look of the beach and harkens back to the metal flake paint era where beach bonfires, surfing and just good old fashioned fun.  We're all the rage and live large.  A few non operational functions were noted, such as the gas gauge, intermittent radio operation and the driver's seat not always locking in place every now and again. Break out the Mr. Zogs, wax up your Dextra and let's hit the surf!  But the beach action is only half the fun, the journey there is where it's at!  Metalflake blue, room for 4 and that classic VW sound....Honey, what do ya think about moving to the West Coast?  I'm thinking about becoming the Big Kahuna...
