Goodguys Get in Gear with Scottsdale Kickoff

-5th Spring Nationals Gets Underway at Westworld March 7-9

Scottsdale, AZ – After a 3 month winter break, Goodguys Rod & Custom Association is poised to kick off its 2014 season March 7-9 at Westworld in Scottsdale, Arizona with the 5th Spring Nationals. The three day event features a show & shine with over 2,500 cars, vendor exhibits, a large swap meet & car corral and more fun with cool cars! It’s the first of 19 Goodguys events across the country this year.

The popular Goodguys AutoCross also gets back into full swing, picking up right where it left off last November. It was in Scottsdale that Cleveland’s Danny Popp won the Goodguys AutoCross Finals Shootout in his ’72 Corvette, beating the best 24 cars in the country. The Finals Shootout returns this season with an expanded 32-car field, the first finalist to be determined at the season-opening Spring Nationals.

While the 5th Spring Nationals is the lid-lifter, the Goodguys 2014 event season has a lot in store, highlighted by the 17th annual Goodguys PPG Nationals July 11-13, 2014 in Columbus, Ohio. A new three-event series called the “Goodguys All American Nationals” will welcome all years, makes and models of American made or American powered show cars, opening the gates to generations of new Goodguys event participants and enthusiasts!

The new All American Nationals will be held April 25-27 in Orlando/Kissimee, Florida, June 6-8 in Indianapolis (at a new location – the Indiana State Fairgrounds) and June 13-15 in West Springfield, Massachusetts at the Big E. The popular All American Sunday program also returns allowing late model American made or American powered cars to participate on Sundays at Goodguys national events.

Reality Television star and hot rod stylist Chip Foose will also join Goodguys this season. Foose will be on hand signing autographs and picking Foose Design awards at Goodguys events in Del Mar, Indianapolis, Columbus and Pleasanton in August. The all new “Chip Foose Experience” semi-truck, featuring Foose-built cars, memorabilia, collectibles and more will be a featured attraction at nearly every 2014 Goodguys event on the midway.

With all that activity as well as a brand new 78-foot show rig to haul all of the event supplies, the Goodguys 2014 event season will deliver the Good Times for the 31st consecutive year!
