I cruised the streets and avenues of Milwaukee, Wisconsin with this beautiful 1956 Buick, a white convertible with red interior, until 1963. Then I traded her in on a 1962 Chevy SS red convertible. When I got married, I bought the wife a 1955 Chevy 210 nicknamed "Mellow Yellow". It was a stick shift, but back in those days, you could get away with that!
This was my first 1958 AMC Rambler Ambassador. It had 58,000 one-owner miles. Left her in the garage in the winter of 1969 and that was the last time I saw her. Is she still in Wisconsin? I wish I could see her again. Well, that was then, and this is now. I sold my 1940 Chevrolet Deluxe Coupe during that same winter in '69.
I did manage to find the only picture I have of my 1962 SS (lost a lot through that time of my roller coaster ride here on Earth). I've owned many cars, Impalas, Ramblers, Rebels, Gremlins, classics, etc. until I remarried and moved to Florida in 1994. I bought my first Ford F600 car hauler. My children had a license plate made for a Christmas present. It had Wisconsin trees on it and said "MY-TOY-HAULER". I bought a 1963 Ford T-bird and used the hauler to move it around.
Lots of things have changed over the years, but one thing is for sure: we all need our blast from the past!
