A BIG Congratulations and Hip Hip Hooray for the appointment of Alex Xydias as Chairman of the Board, of the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum. “We are very excited and pleased to announce Alex’s appointment as our Chairman,” said Tony Thacker, executive director of the Museum. “His knowledge, expertise and history with the Museum will be a great asset to our organization and we’re certain Wally would be proud.” Xydias and board members Thomas K. McKernan, Dave McClelland, Peter Clifford, Gary Darcy, Wayne McMurtry and Steve Gibbs will oversee all Museum activities including the planning and growth of Museum exhibits, fundraising and the popular NHRA Hot Rod Reunions. Frame Boxing Article from the Hot Rod M.D. Most new cars are of unitized construction; they basically have no frame. However, old style hot rods have either U-channel or hat-section shaped frame rails. The early configurations resembled a ladder and were not very rigid. There was a show on Dec. 18th to help our good friend and reporter Bobby Royal... Tragically, his grandson was killed in a shooting on Dec. 11th .... Our hearts go out to Bobby and his Wife who raised their grandson Preston .... we can’t even begin to imagine the heartbreak they are suffering... Our hearts and prayers go out to them both.
