HEY.... Look what the wind blew through the door at Hotrodhotline.com this week ! It’s Tex Smith.. doing his best impression of Ed Roth .... Tex just arrived from Australia, as he escapes the winter there to come to Idaho for the fishing and of course for Bonneville. We had a great visit at breakfast with Tex ... he’s quite a guy and his stories are never ending. He promised he’d stop back by on his way home in Sept. but we hope to see him at Bonneville.

Our industry has lost a great friend and contributor... we were so saddened to learn of the passing of Todd Gartshore, Partner at Baer Brakes, this past weekend. The news was a shock to all and we know that Todd will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Our deepest condolences to Todds family and to the folks at Baer who were his Hotrod family. More here

Carl Brunson is a very talented guy ... he not only works magic with the metal in a car and the paint on a car... but he had a great idea for our site. Carl and Jack were talking about how many tools they had made for themselves over the years ... something they made to do a particular job and then just put away in their tool boxes.. They recognized that a lot of guys do this... but don’t share their little tricks with anyone ... so we’re going to be sharing some of Carl and Jacks home made tools from over the years... and we’d like to see YOURS too. Here’s Carl’s first handy dandy tool
One I use often was handy ... so I snapped a photo. Jack needs one of these.
It is a 4 way lug wrench with a 3/4 and a 13/16 deep well sockets welded to it.
I can use it to get the wheels off of cars with fat tires, aftermarket wheels with flush lug nuts that a regular 4 way is to fat on the ends to fit.
