The 60th Detroit Autorama is now behind us and the competition for the coveted Ridler Award was fierce this year. Normally there are around 20 or so cars vying for the award ... this year being a landmark “60th” brought out 63 contenders !
There were 63 teams of owners, builders with years of blood, sweat and tears invested in the build of their lifetime. The first cut, with the awarding of the “Great 8” narrowed the field..... See all of the Great 8 contenders here
Then on Sunday the winner of the Ridler was announced.... A 55 T BIrd owned by Dwayne and built by son Matt Peace and Jesse Greening. This is a really cool car with a great build story from a very nice family behind it. Jack had a chance to talk with the Peace sons during the show and it’s evident that they are born car guys.

This is a scene all car builders wish for and very few can ever experience... winning the Ridler !

One of the contenders, “X S Cash”, owned by Dave & Joyce Emery of Rochester Hills, MI was thought by many to be a likely winner. Dave & Joyce built a previous Ridler Winner “32 Revolver” which went on to be the only car in ISCA History to win the Triple Crown. But that was not to be this year.... as always there were 7 excellent cars that didn’t win the Ridler ... but they are all WINNERS .... as the club of the “Great 8” is a very small club indeed ... and one that any car guy would be happy to be a member of ... so kudos to Dave & Joyce for their really fabulous car, and to the other Great 8 Winners.... and a big CONGRATULATIONS to you all. New Scam Alert ...... While we do all we can to prevent scammers from operating on our website, they still try ! The latest one involves inquiries on your Ad in which the so called “buyer” can only buy your car through Paypal. They give you a link to open a Paypal account or a Google Cash Account so they can transfer the money to you. THIS IS A SCAM ! There is NEVER a reason to open a Paypal or Google Cash account in order to sell your car. These scammers often provide a link to a phony site that looks like paypal in order to collect your banking and private information. When someone wants to buy your car and they are legitimate .. they will not be using Paypal. NO EXCEPTIONS !

The 80th Anniversary of the 32 Ford
will be celebrated at Deuce Week at the Petersen Museum Feb 29th - March 3rd. There are so many activities ... A very cool Hot Rod Roundtable on Thursday night, and a HUGE Concert on Friday night ... capped off by a Deuce only car show on Saturday where we expect 400 1932 Fords to show up.
