24th Annual Road Kings Picnic in the Park and Charity Car Show
Johnny Carson Park in Burbank, CASunday, June 9, 2013
On Sunday, June 09, 2013 the Road Kings of Burbank (California) celebrated 61 years of Rodding and Racing by hosting their annual charity car show at Johnny Carson Park, across the street from where the old NBC Studios used to be in Burbank, Ca.
This is a free show, but participants usually donate $30 as all monies raised by the car club benefit the high school auto shop programs, community-based help organizations and other recognized charities. The donation also covered the cost of a car show T-Shirt, dash plaque, mug, and official entry into the show for purposes of competing for one the "Top 15" awards, which is basically judges choice.
In addition to the car show there was also a "cacklefest" of dragsters on an hourly basis; ah the smell of race gas in the air.
The park is a great setting for a car show with lots of grassed areas and trees; there were over 700 cars in attendance. Food was provided by the Kiwanis club, again with the money going to charity. Hope you can make it next year, but for now enjoy the pictures…..
