Rats Nest Run In #4

The Rats Nest Run In #4 held on June 29th this year, (2013) Located on Kings Highway in Saugerties NY. was a huge success. Weather was great, sunny skies despite a chance for rain that was forcasted, but it wouldn't  have mattered if it did rain because it was a Rain or Shine event! 

Pete put together some great entertainment this year, 3 great bands, Slaugherhouse Chorus, Amnerican Pinup and The Denver Boot and a DJ playing music inbetween the acts.  There was a Pin up contest with cash prizes for the girls, a Burlesque Troupe performing some Olde Tyme Burlesque, a Barbershop, Babes walking around Dressed to Kill, BEER & BBQ. I don't know how far the furthest participant came, but I did see a '46 Chevy truck with some great pantina with Rhode Island plates on it. Maybe someone came further?  About 350-400 pre-63 Rat Rods were on hand. Proceeds from the 50/50 was being donated to the "Independence Fund" to help wounded Vets regain greater mobility through the use of a Track Chair.  You can see a picture of a Track Chair, which is on the Bucket the 50/50 girl is holding in one of my pics.  Hope you like my pics!  Tom Poremba
