Re-scheduled from May 11th the Mississippi Beach Cruisers Car club held its annual Open Car show on June 8th on the grounds of the Veterans Administration Health Services and National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS. 154 participants in a wide variety of Cars and trucks were treated to a view of the Bay of Biloxi in the background and were able to park under the shade of ancient moss laden live oaks. The participants were treated to music provided by DJ and Club President “Nomad” Terry Ward. In addition to the cars and trucks patients/residents of the facility were escorted by volunteers to mingle with the participants and were able to reminisce about the “olden days” when they or a friend or relative had a car like this one or that one. These American heroes were also thanked over and over for their service to our Country and it made their day in so many ways. The Veterans were asked to vote on their favorite car of the event and a Jaguar XKE was their overwhelming choice.

The Mississippi Beach Cruisers have already booked next year’s event (May 10th) and are hard at work to make it even better than this years. A check in the amount of $3,600 was donated to the recreation department of the V.A. for use as they see fit to make the stay for the patients a little less stressful.
