33rd Annual Summer Fun Run August 23, 2013
Deming, WashingtonFriday, August 23, 2013
The 33rd Annual Summer Fun Run is in the books and by all accounts a fun summer run. The weekend event starts out with the Friday registration, campers all ready in place at the Log Show Grounds in Deming, Washington. Friday evening’s ice cream social tops off the day before the evening’s entertainment and “margaritaville” keeps things hopping well into the night. Saturday morning the registration continues with Show and Shine entrants coming in for the single day. A well planned poker run is part of the day’s events along with children’s games, a blow-up car and raffles. Vendors have food available as the event is removed from local restaurants. Sadly on Friday evening we lost one of our cherished members, Larry “Grumpy” Neil who passed away from medical issues. He had been an active and long time enthusiastic member of the 4th Corner Elites. R.I.P. Larry.
Saturday’s event began with a little northwest rain but cleared to a nice warm day, ending in a BBQ salmon dinner and a cruise to Boomers Drive-in down town Bellingham. The evening cruisers take off in major burnout fashion and do talk about it at the Raffle and Award presentation on Sunday morning after the on site breakfast.
Three days of fun and entertainment provided by the 4th Corner Elites of Bellingham who donate the proceeds to charity at year’s end. Thanks everyone for a great weekend!
