The Great Labor Day Cruise
Costa Mesa, CaliforniaSaturday, August 31, 2013
Darrell Moore has put “Great” back into the Labor Day Cruise! This was the 31st year of the event at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, CA. The event is now a 2-day event, Monday has been dropped. 150+ Motorhomes/Campers move-in on Friday and “Show N’ Shine” cars enter on Saturday and Sunday. A new, improved Auto Cross course was laid out in the back parking lot and was free to all entrants. Chad Reynolds from BangShift.com did a great job as announcer and made the contest very popular. The weather was warm with nice evenings. Almost 1300+ classic cars gathered, and car friends that may not have seen each other for a year, reunite for 2 days of cruising around the 2 mile cruise route, visiting with old friends, making new friends, checking out some of the 80+ vendors offerings, and generally relaxing. Saturday night 2 great bands, Monsoon & Prodigy kept cruisers jumping. One lucky winner went home in a sharp, 454 powered, ’66 Chevy Chevelle giveaway car! 28 unique handmade awards were presented at the Sunday ceremony.
Thanks for the Show!
