Englishtown Fall Car Show - Swap Meet
Englishtown, New JerseySaturday, October 5, 2013
This year marks the 31st year in existence of the Englishtown (New Jersey) Fall Car Show-Swap Meet, and while Vehicle Owner participation, and attendance on Saturday by all accounts was robust, the Sunday Vehicle Owner participation wasn’t quite what it used to be. Mind you, while there were around 200 plus vehicles on display on the Show Field, in comparison to years past, Vehicle Owner participation was down. I have heard many guesses as to why there aren’t as many vehicles on display at this Show as there were in years past, but generally speaking, what this writer has noticed, is that as gasoline prices began skyrocketing in 2001, many Shows began to suffer, and the Englishtown Car Show/Swap Meet has not been an exception to that trend. Hopefully the Englishtown Show will soldier on, and attendance numbers remain high enough to make the Show profitable, because despite whatever its detractors might say, the Raceway Park Show is still a fun event that is worth going to, and it is also one of the few large Shows of its kind in the Central New Jersey region.
