Rt 1 South Home Depot Cruise Night
The weather could NOT have been nicer, and for August, unbelievably comfortable for an August night, and yet, the turnout, while good, was nowhere near what one would have expected . For the life of this writer, I cannot understand why there weren't more vehicles present. Some would use the excuse of late Summer vacations, others the 16 year long economic dep ression, others would have their own supposed explanations. With all the possibil ities considered, the positives are, easy to get to, food on site, and nearby, plus Home Depot right there, just in case one has to make one of those unplanned emergency repairs, and you need a few tools, or basic hardware to effect the repair.
So, enough of the analysis, on to the event itself. There were at least 40 - 50 vehicles present, and few new participants among the crowd, which included several nice Streetrods. DJ Jukebox Jimmy spun the tunes, and Club President Larry Enhat oversaw the Fan Belt tos s. The Raritan Bay Cruisers brought several nice vehicles to this event, Karl, 'The Hotdog Man' provided on site eats, and Diecast Jimmy Fitz had his array of diecast models available for sale.
All in all, a nice night, and maybe, one day soon, more vehic le owners will discover this Thursday night Cruise Night, before the season ends.
