Temecula Rod Run

The Temecula Rod Run is hosted in “Old Town” Temecula, California each year in March; this year the show was held on March 07, but the fun really begins the Friday before as the cars arrive.
Starting mid-day Friday Temecula locks down Old Town from Arch to Arch to allow pre-1975 classic beauties to “run wild”, including a Friday night cruise down the main street from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday the weather was summer-like in the low 80's; the Show & Shine had 700 cars in attendance (that’s the maximum they can fit) from near and far, including out of state. There was a very large public attendance, and with the town as a background this show was a definite hit.
One change this year, which I felt was very positive, was the assignment of parking spots. No more parking and leaving your car in place several days in advance in order to secure a “good” parking place. Kudos to the City of Temecula for implementing and handling this change.
As in the previous year, I had an opportunity to revisit my prior hot rod (1931 Model A) and Robert, the current owner. It was great to see my former car, see the changes he's implemented and discuss what the future holds in store the car. We'll meet again next year when I attend the 2016 Temecula Rod Run......hope to see you there.
