Lake Street Cruise In
South Lyon, MIWednesday, July 22, 2015

Correctly known as the Lake Street Cruise-in, this is a once a month event runs from May thru September in the small Michigan town of South Lyon. Amazingly, this early 1800’s town has continued to prosper despite all the problems besieging small towns. The cruise also has prospered, especially for a once a month event that could be easily forgotten by cruisers and the general public alike. But, the downtown area businesses continue to work to maintain the event along with some good sponsors, a group of dedicated local hotrodder’s and the area residents, who appreciate this family oriented event. Through their efforts, the cruise-in has nearly tripled in size since it’s meager beginnings! Each month, a local car club is featured: this time it was the Motor State Street Rods (my club) and prior to the event start we were assembled in an adjoining parking lot to be introduced as we drove to our reserved parking places. The downtown streets are closed off to traffic, which is always a great way to run a car event. Those procession pics were taken by my wife Rochelle, a budding Hot Rod Hot Line Photographer. Motor State Street Rods is nearing its fortieth anniversary and has a well-respected reputation for involving family, cars and charity in the many communities that it serves. So, I can say this with pride, that I helped Rich win the Best of Show trophy! I parked my beautiful black Deuce Roadster next to Rich’s beautiful black Deuce Coupe, and because of that, the crowds and judges around both cars were substantial. So therefore, I helped Rich win his Best of Show Trophy….. well, I am just saying. Enjoy the pics!
