Temecula Rod Run
Temecula, CASaturday, March 5, 2016
The Temecula Rod Run is hosted in “Old Town” Temecula, California each year in March; this year the show was held on March 05, but the fun really began Friday evening. Starting at 3 p.m. Friday Temecula locked down Old Town from Arch to Arch to allow pre-1975 classic beauties to “run wild” with a Friday night cruise down the main street from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday the weather just right for a car show as the coming storm held off all day. The Show & Shine was sold out with 650 cars in attendance from near and far, including out of state; 650 is the maximum they can handle in this sleepy little town. There was a very large public attendance, including people from various states and even some for foreign countries. This show, with the town as a background, is a definite “must be there” event.
Last year the show organizers adopted the assignment of parking spots for the Saturday show; this year they extended that assignment to include Friday after 4 p.m. Great choice as it made it easy to participate in the cruise without fear of losing your parking spot. Kudos to the show organizers for this change!
Registration for next years’ show begins in August. I’m already looking forward to the 2017 Temecula Rod Run......hope to see you there.
