This show has become one of the premier events on the central coast, selling out yearly…this year was no exception as more than 300 entries were displayed among the vintage military vehicles and airplanes…San Luis Roadsters Club was out in force as well. This year Dennis Gage, host of the My Classic Car television series was on hand, filming the event for an upcoming show.
In addition to the displays, rides in a vintage trainer plane were available, flown by my high school classmate, Sherm Smoot…the local RC plane group was on hand as well, staging dogfights, smoke trailing flybys and even Snoopy taking to the skies.
The highlight for many was the new addition to the Woodland Car Display Museum, adding a third wing to this ever growing display of sprint cars, Indy cars, midgets, classic, street rod and now drag racing cars, this is a ‘must see’ if you are in the area.
Several vendors are spread among the hanger area, with a variety of food for every palate; the show culminates with door prizes, class awards and for entrants only drawings for $600, $400 and $200, a great finish for a great event…see you there next year!
