SSG Alex Viola 2016 Memorial Car Show
Keller, TXSaturday, November 5, 2016
Made the trip to the SSG Alex Viola Memorial Car Show in Keller, Texas. The car show benefits the SSG Alex Viola Foundation, established by long time friend and co-worker Frank Viola to honor his son Staff Sergeant Alex Viola from the U.S. Army Special Forces, who was killed while on active duty in Afghanistan.
The cars and crowds started to fill the square with over 225 cars, trucks, and motorcycles. This year's event featured the FRANTIC FORD FUNNY CAR making NITRO for the crowd; it even had Frank's wife Peggy in the seat. There were Live & Silent Auctions and Art Schling and friends doing his brush magic in the pinstripes gallery.
The Alex Viola Foundation (www.ssgalexviola.org) provides support for fallen and wounded special operations service members and their families. This past March, the Foundation presented checks in the amount of $10,000 each to the Green Beret Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
Enjoy the pics - what a great time we all had. Thanks to Frank, Peggy and their team for an awesome event. Can't wait to return in 2017!
