19th Annual Metro Vintage Advertising Collector Show
Pompton Lakes, NJSunday, April 9, 2017
Early darkness - time to venture back to Metro Vintage Advertising Collector Show at the Pompton Lakes Elks Lodge in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Each year gets better and better with this year no exception, especially in the selection of Porcelain Signs - some of the rarest I have ever seen.
It's a great place, with more inside vendors and plenty to find outside too. You can find just about anything, from antique advertising signs and tins of all types; old gasoline station items; Automobilia; vintage motorcycle stuff; license plates; memorabilia from country stores, diners, soda fountains, drive-ins, amusement parks, barber shops, taverns, dairies, etc.; old toys; movie posters; garage art; rec room decor; coin-operated vending machines and arcade games; ephemera; breweriana; roadside America; and tons of fun stuff and cool collectibles!
The show was founded as "Metro Petro" in 1998. The first show was in the auction barn at the Old Feed Mill Auction in Boonton in 1999. Thanks to Jack Wootton and family for providing the venue for launching this much-anticipated show. The Metro Petro inaugural effort featured gasoline and oil company collectibles and Automobilia. Many of the original vendors are still attending the show year after year after year. Enjoy the pics!
