Start your engines! The Central Florida Region and DIS (World Center of Racing at Daytona International Speedway) hosted their May Showcase of racing.
The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) was established in 1944 by racing enthusiasts. Its races, which go from grass-roots events all the way up to the pros like the IMSA Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, are staffed by the many volunteers and racers that make it all happen.
Happen it did too! Autocross, Club Racing, Performance Driving Experience (PDX), Rallycross racing and a Road-Rally all took place within the confines of this spectacular racing facility.
Their purpose overall is to get people involved, both as volunteers/members or as racers. SCCA-licensed workers staff many of the major motorsport events held throughout the United States, in one capacity or another. For more information. go to http://cfrscca.org/volunteer/.
Hopefully some of these pictures will inspire you to get involved; even if not, sit back and take a peek at some of the action on the grounds of the Worlds Center of Racing, Daytona International Speedway, that went on May 6-7!
