3rd Annual SSG Alex Viola Memorial Car Show
Keller, TXSaturday, November 11, 2017
As our Frantic Ford racing seasons end, it's time to go back to the 3rd Annual SSG Alex Viola Memorial Car Show in Keller, Texas. The car show benefits the SSG Alex Viola Foundation, established by long time friend and co-worker Frank Viola to honor his son Staff Sergeant Alex Viola from the U.S. Army Special Forces, who was killed while on active duty in Afghanistan.
By 6:30 AM, they started to arrive - cars, trucks and bikes. The crowds started to fill the square with over 300 cars, the best in the DFW area and beyond. This year's event featured the FRANTIC FORD FUNNY CAR making NITRO for the crowd; it even had Frank's wife Peggy in the seat. Along with this came a few local nostalgia top fuel cars and promods. There were live and silent auctions, and Art Schling and friends doing his brush magic in the pinstripes gallery. This year event raised over $30,000 dollars.
The Alex Viola Foundation (www.ssgalexviola.org) provides support for fallen and wounded special operations service members and their families. This past March, the Foundation presented checks in the amount of $10,000 each to the Green Beret Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
Enjoy the pics - what a great time we all had. Thanks to Frank, Peggy and their team for an awesome event.
