Invasion X
Dallas, TXSaturday, September 2, 2017
Some car shows come and go or just change dramatically, and not for the better, but none of that is true for the Invasion car show. The show celebrated ten years of success this year in the same location; they've been sticking true to their original plan since the inception of the event in 2007.
The Invasion is hosted by a car club known as Them! The club is a group of friends who love everything old and vintage, and above all love hot rods and customs. The show was held in the historic area of Dallas, Texas known as Deep Ellum, with its classic juke joints, awesome Texas style eateries, vintage shops and tattoo parlors. The show is fairly large, covering several city blocks. Elm Street is the main street through Deep Ellum and it is closed during the event, but both sides of the street were lined with lots of cool vintage Detroit steel, and so were all the little parking lots and alleys along the route.
The Invasion car show is an annual event held Labor Day weekend with traditional car show style and strict rules for pre-64 hot rods and customs. There are some vendors and plenty of bands playing throughout the day. One thing's for sure - you will see some of the hottest hot rods, the coolest customs and the most righteous lowriders Texas has to offer. The atmosphere is really laid back and it is a great opportunity to eat some fantastic food, listen to some great live music and see some awesome hot rods and customs. So do you think you can survive the Invasion?
