1st Annual Huntington Beach Holiday Toy Drive & Car Show
Huntington Beach, CASaturday, December 2, 2017
Toy drives at Christmas are always a good thing! Saturday morning the weather was cool but by noon, when the show started, it warmed up to the high 70’s. The area along Metzler and Gothard streets is covered with many hot rod and automotive shops. A small parking lot along Gothard was filed with hot rods and race cars of all kinds. One of the buildings was the home of “4 Sons Brewing Co.” As if that wasn’t enough, one shop stored the first powered Huntington Beach fire truck, a gorgeous, museum quality 1922 Seagrave! If variety is the spice of life, this event was a very tasty show. Alex George, one of the organizers, said he “tried to get many different types of cars.” On hand were great examples of Street Rods, Muscle Cars, dragsters, land speed machines, Jr dragsters, off road trucks and buggies and drag racing cars. During the event, Dragsters “cackled” as several vendors exhibited their products. After closing ceremonies, they all cruised down Main St. H.B.!
