Pumpkin Classic Car Show and Fall Festival
Upper Township, NJSaturday, November 3, 2018
What was once known as Flemings Pumpkin Run and was held at Flemings Auto Salvage in Egg Harbor Township New Jersey, has been renamed Pumpkin Classic Car Show and Fall Festival, and since last year, has been held at Amanda’s Field, in Upper Township New Jersey. Mr. Fleming (of Flemings Auto Salvage) it was heard has had a stroke, but is slowly recovering, and for those who did enjoy the event for all the years he hosted at his place, it was good news to hear Mr. Fleming is on the mend. The event this year opened to overcast and rainy skies, with areas north and south of the Show venue getting g significant amounts of rain. The result was a slow start, with only 10 percent of what one would normally find when arriving between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. As the skies slowly cleared, more vehicles poured on to the Show Field, but compared to last year, the final tally looked to be between half and three quarters of the preceding year. There were numerous Food Vendors, a Race Car display section, heavy duty Truck Show section, and a returning crowd favorite, a Steam Tractor produced by the Case Machinery Company in 1907. Despite Mother Nature’s early rain, and even with a less than normal participant and spectator turnout, the 2018 Show was a fun time for all who attended, a bit windy and cold, but fun.
