WAYNE’S AUTOBODY TOYS FOR TOTS PARADE
South Amboy, New JerseySunday, December 6, 2020
Despite the issue presented by current conditions, all involved in the Wayne’s Autobody “Toys For Tots” event, managed pull off a magnum opus, and from all accounts, the result was well received by the participants. The great achievement was to still have a “Toys For Tots” event, keep it safe, and achieve the end goal, collect toys for kids who otherwise, wouldn’t have had any, and brighten their holidays, and their Parents holidays too. Normally everyone gathers in and around Wayne’s Autobody, the front Office, and surrounding streets, hangs out, a charity Auction is held, and the event runs from around 9:00 a.m., to about 2:00 p.m. Unfortunately, with the restrictions in place to keep everyone safe during the Pandemic, the regular event couldn’t be held, and so, the organizers put together a Parade, which originated in the Parking Lot of the Sayreville Sports Complex, and ended at the front Office of Wayne’s Autobody, where the Parade participants stopped, handed their toys to the waiting staff, and then drove on. Kudos to all involved for finding a safe way have the event this year, and in the process, make the holidays a little brighter during these trying times for the kids receiving the donated toys, and their Parents.
