Spring is here and it is time for the 4th Annual Texas Hoedown in New Caney, Texas. This show is held at Albert Sallas Park and is hosted by the Hellions Car Club.

It is a nice drive through the back roads of Texas to the park. The location is great with room to grow and it is a real laid back, enjoy the day kind of event. The weather was questionable as it has been in the past but the show goes on and everything seems to work out in the end.

One of the best aspects of this show is that it is family oriented. There is just as much for the kids as there is for the adults with rock climbing, bouncy stuff, face painting and mechanical bull riding, what more could a kid ask for? Well, food or something to drink maybe? No worries that was all well covered too.

The Texas Hoedown is open to pre-72 customs, rods, rats, muscles and traditional choppers and bobbers and they all show up throughout the day. No one goes home disappointed with such a vast group of machinery. Lots of bands like Sam Navarro and the Lone Star Devils crank out the tunes all day long. The Houston Roller Derby had many bouts during the day and there were plenty of vendors and a swap meet as well.

So if you find yourself in Texas in March make sure to check out The Texas Hoedown and have some fun as big as the lone star state itself.
