Hines Drive is a county park that winds along the Rouge River for 15 miles. Two lanes of pavement passing soccer fields, baseball diamonds, lakes and quiet fields. From Dearborn to Northville, MI and this is one of the most beautiful areas ever created by nature and preserved by man. For the second year this road has been shut down for the day to be invaded by hot rods and classic cars. What makes the Hines Cruise exceptional is that it has so many favorable elements that it could make it larger and more known than local cruises on Telegraph, Back to the Bricks and yes....even the Woodward Cruise! That is, if we can keep the so called "corporate sponsors" out. On this beautiful day I joined my fellow Motor State Street Rodders at the Maple Grove Recreation Center Area and promptly turned it in to a tent city, but in a really good way, enjoying the openness, as well as, the closeness to the cruisers that cannot be had at the other venues. I also enjoyed cruise rides from Bob in his 1947 Ford and in Phil's Cobra. The rest of the afternoon was spent enjoying the cars cruising by and the antics of Nina on her inline skates. Who said that taking pictures should be hard? Enjoy the pics of my fellow club members fantastic rides, as well as, many other cruisers enjoying the park!
