36th Annual Fall Englishtown Swap Meet & Auto Show.

This was the 36th annual Fall Swap Meet and Car Show at the Englishtown Raceway Park, and there was something a little different this time. Unlike what was the case in past years, this year, one could bring their Stock production, or modified vehicle, etc, on either Saturday or Sunday. The change was made by the Show promoter in order to boost attendance, and while apparently successful on Saturday, on Sunday the change hadn’t markedly increased the number of vehicles on display.  However, even with a diminished turnout, versus years past, the variety of vehicles provided a little something for everyone to see. One of the more notable vehicles entered into the Show, was a Chevette, with a Big Block V-8 in it. The car was bone stock in appearance, but the rumble gave away the 800 pound gorilla hiding under the Hood.

Hopefully the vehicle eligibility rule change will become more widely known in 2013, and more vehicle owners will turn out with their vehicles for both Saturday and Sunday. Overall, the Raceway Park Show is a nice Show, and hopefully will continue on for years to come.
