Owens Valley Cruisers 19th Annual Fall Colors Car Show Oct. 5-7, 2012
Tri-County Fairgrounds in Bishop, CaFriday, October 5, 2012
The 19th Annual Fall Colors Car Show started on Friday, Oct 5th, with participants hanging-out at the Von’s parking lot after arriving and registering. The show was run by the Owens Valley Cruisers Car Club and the club members made registration effortless. The weather was warm and very clear with 87 degree daytime temps and much cooler temps in the mornings and evenings.
At 7:00am, Saturday morning the 280+ show cars entered the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Bishop, Ca. All the cars were parked on grass; many under trees. All participants enjoyed a delicious, free, Lions Club breakfast. After a stirring presentation of our flag, Jim Lambert and Master of Ceremonies Rick Hardy entertained the crowd all day. The Car Show ended at 3:00pm with the fun Cruisin’ Parade of Main Street. Spectators lined the street to wave at their favorites.
On Sunday the Fall Colors Porker Run began at the Fairgrounds and went 22 miles up to 9700 feet and South Lake. The fall colors were on display and the contestants each picked up 5 cards along the route. Then back to the Fairgrounds for the awards ceremony. This event is like a mini-vacation for classic car owners, with awesome scenery, friendly locals, and good food.
Thanks for the Show!
