5th Annual Texas Hoedown
Albert Sallas Park, New Caney, TexasSaturday, March 2, 2013
There must be something to this “traditional hot rod” movement. For the past decade traditional hot rod shows have sprung up all over the country and they continue to grow each year. In Texas we have the “Lone Star Roundup” in Austin that is now one of the largest events of its kind in the nation. Closer to home in Houston we now have the “Texas Hoedown” in nearby New Caney that experienced a large turnout even in its inaugural year four years ago. The show is hosted by the Hellions Car Club so a special thanks goes out to them for a job well done. Check out the images below. Incidentally if you watch “Fast N’ Loud” on the Discovery Channel that features Dallas’ Gas Monkey Garage you probably remember the metal flake green ’52 Ford Gasser that they rebuilt and sold at the Mecum Auction down here in Houston last year. I had expected to maybe see it at the Lone Star Roundup in Austin but I was pleasantly surprised that it showed up at the Texas Hoedown.
