SEMA Cares has taken The Austin Hatcher Foundation under their umbrella of charities. SEMA Cares is a nonprofit organization that brings the performance and specialty equipment auto industry together to help make a difference in the lives of others.
The Austin Hatcher Foundation was founded 10 years ago and provides programs and services to assist children who are suffering from cancer. The organization works to set new standards for creative collaboration in the fight against pediatric cancer and in the past has partnered with many SEMA member and automotive-related companies.
On September 18-20, the Austin Hatcher Foundation will be teaming up with Goodguys Rod & Custom Association to host their AutoCross for Kids Program, where they will raise money for pediatric cancer patients by giving children an opportunity to ride with a professional AutoCross driver.
SEMA Cares was established in 2007 and has raised more than $1 million for charities and nonprofit organizations, including Childhelp, Victory Junction, and the Aftermarket Foundation.
"Our industry has a strong sense of community, and charitable giving is the sort of community activity that joins us together," said SEMA President and CEO, Chris Kersting. "SEMA Cares unites the industry for a great cause, and we look forward to working with the Austin Hatcher Foundation to further these efforts."
The Austin Hatcher Foundation is an organization that has similar goals as SEMA Cares and will be a good addition to the charities supported by SEMA Cares.
"SEMA Cares is happy to support the Austin Hatcher Foundation," said Chairperson Luanne Brown. "The Austin Hatcher Foundation's mission aligns perfectly with SEMA Cares' goals, and they are already actively involed with the SEMA industry."
