1949 Dodge Pickup
The B-series of pickup trucks was introduced in 1948 and were produced until 1953 when they were replaced with the C series. There were a few different variants including the B1-B line which was applied to the 1/2 ton pickups with a standard straight six motor. The taller cab on these trucks were referred to as a "pilot house" design due to their height and larger windows to improve visibility. You really don't see a lot of classic Dodge pickups on the road especially redone in a restomod style like this cool '49 has been finished out. It takes the classic pickup look and combines it with a lot of modern features making it very road worthy. The truck wears a flat Black paint job for a really cool hot rod look. The 3 piece front grill is nicely chromed and the bumpers have been removed. The lights are all working properly and it has chrome cat eye covers on the front lenses. It has a nice wood bed in back which is where you will find the fuel filler, a spare, and the relocated battery for easier access. The truck rides on custom chrome 16 inch MB Wheels which tuck nicely under the wide fenders and are wrapped in General 255/65R16 tires.
Mechanically the truck has been fully gone through and made much more modern so it can be used as a reliable driver as well as a classic show car. It sits on a 1994 Dodge Dakota chassis which is where the drivetrain came out of as well. It is still a 6 cylinder but instead of the original straight 6 it now has a fuel injected 3.9L V6. The truck runs great and is paired with an automatic transmission with overdrive backed by a 10 bolt rear end. Power steering has been added along with power brakes and discs up front. This makes it a very easy truck to cruise around in. It goes down the freeway well and gets around 18-20 mpg which is pretty impressive for a vintage Pickup.
The interior has been entirely redone as well with a much more modern look. The door panels, carpet, headliner, kick panels, etc all look to be in excellent shape. The seats came out of a 2018 Honda pilot so are much more comfortable than the originals and really look good. It has been recovered in nice Gray leather and has 3 seats with a folding center arm rest with cupholders. It also has the 3 point shoulder belts and a lap belt in the center. The dash is painted to match the exterior and features the Dodge Dakota gauges, Old Air AC/Heat controls, the JVC AM/FM/CD/Aux stereo and SSL speakers. The radio still needs to be hooked up but does work.
This is a very cool pickup that nicely mixes a vintage look with more modern mechanics. Being a Dodge it is very unique and it's being offered up for a great price.
This classic truck could be in your garage for only $29,500.00!
