Holley Announces Dates for LS Fest 2012

Bowling Green, KY--The Celebration Of All Things LS Continues For 2012.

Holley Performance Products is pleased to announce September 7-9 as the official dates for the 2012 Holley LS Fest. 2011 marked the second year for LS Fest which saw excellent growth as participants increased by 51%.

2011 brought growth not only in participants, but more vendors were present as well. Over 40 vendors were there with product and test cars to display the benefits to be had with the LS powerplant. LS Fest is the place to test your ride and evaluate your own abilities in a safe, fun, and action-packed environment.

LS Fest is the only event where Autocross, Countryside Cruise, Drag Racing, Drifting, a Dyno Challenge, an Engine Swap Challenge, Show-N-Shine, Speed Stop Challenge, and more can be experienced at the same venue.

F-body’s and Corvettes are not the only vehicles welcome at LS Fest. Any vehicle that has an LS engine between the frame rails can call LS Fest home for the weekend. 2011 featured rock crawlers, lightweight LS-swapped imports, street rods, trucks and more.

2011 saw a new victor crowned as Kyle Tucker won Grand Champion after a heated battle on the autocross course, speed stop challenge, and drag strip. That doesn’t mean Brian Finch and last year’s Grand Champion Mark Steilow didn’t give him a run for his money, as the difference between the final scores were only separated by four points.

Large numbers of drag racers turned out with plenty of fast cars like Anthony Manna who wont the LSx Drag Radial class with an E/T of 7.92 at 185.89 mph. The remainder of the drag racing results are viewable on the event website.

Holley sponsored its first Drift Challenge for the 2011 year and this brought a number of high profile cars like Dan Savage who drives the Sikky factory sponsored and LS powered Nissan S13. Carl Nadeau’s LS2 powered BF Goodrich BMW M3 took home the second place win and third went to James Evans, driver of the Sikky sponsored LS2 powered Nissan 350Z.

Engine Swap Challengers were introduced to some different rules this year in order to make the challenge more entertaining. This didn’t stop the team from the School of Automotive Machinists from taking home over $10,000 in products including a brand new 6.0 LS engine and a Holley EFI system They successfully edged out the team from Hot Rod Revolution with a final time of 38 minutes and 33 seconds.

With the cumulative growth of 2011, 2012 promises to bring even greater numbers of great people, fast cars and non-stop entertainment to beautiful Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, KY.
