Submitted by Eddie Stakes: I got this from customer and was worth sharing, thought some of you might like to check out a really sweet 68 ambassador a long way from home, now in Germany. Rare color, heavily optioned. Sold new in Washington state, what a story this car could maybe tell if could talk, especially as we hit the 25th Anniversary of fall of Berlin Wall. Maybe that 343 Typhoon engine helped pull down some slabs.....
From Nils in Germany: Some twenty years ago I owned a 1968 Chrysler 300. Since the beginning of this year I have been looking for a classic Mopar because I like the straight design of the mid-sixties. But then the Ambassador SST crossed my way four weeks ago and I was impressed with the design and the high quality of the build.
From 1967 to 2005 the Ambassador was in the hands of the first owners. Beside the building sheet, the maintenance book with ID card and manual, I found a book in the glove box where the owners wrote down every single gas fill and part, with date and cost, beginning in late 1967 until 1998, when the husband past away. Later bills show that his wife drove the car until 2005.
I'm very happy with the car. It's not in perfect condition but in an authentic, well maintained condition. The only part missing is the driver's seat side fake-chrome cover (If you coincidently have one, I'd like to buy it).
I send you some scans from the papers and photos of the car.
Greetings from Southern Germany and with best regards
