Sawyer Motors Car Show July 7, 2013

This year, to celebrate 10 years of the "Best Little Car Show in the Northeast", Sawyer Motors in Saugerties, NY teamed up with the Kiwanis to produce a two day event. On Saturday July 6th, the Kiwanis held its traditional Kiwanis family fun day presented every July 4th at the same place, Cantine Field, only two days later this year. There were hot air balloon rides, skydivers, home run derbies, a hotdog eating contest, a carnival, a Cruise-in and live music by "The Big Smoothies" and "Route 66". To cap it all off, there was a huge fireworks display! On Sunday July 7th, Sawyer Motors held its traditional Car Show on Main, Market and Partition Streets. All of the downtown stores and restaurants were open and created a nice little escape from the intermittent showers that came and went all afternoon, as you can probably tell from my pictures. The spectators came in force despite the showers, but it appeared the rain did keep a few show vehicles away. All in all, I would say they still attracted over 350 to 400 cars. This year's proceeds went to the Veterans Shelter Project of Ulster County. Hope you enjoy my pictures!
