Hot August Nights Car Show August 6, 2013

The Hot August Nights Car Show just celebrated its 27th Anniversary during the week of August 6th to August 11th 2013. This year, as in previous years, there was a separate “pre-show” car show in Tahoe on the weekend prior to HAN. The first local kick-off show was on Sunday, August 4th at the Bonanza Casino, north of Reno. Then there were kick-off shows on Monday, August 5th at the Atlantis Hotel and the Peppermill hotel. There was also a lead-in car show on Saturday, August 3rd thru August 4th in Carson City. As you can see, there's lots to do even before the office event begins!

This car show was originally conceived to help the economy of Reno during the “dog days” of summer... that was 27 years ago when it was just a two-day event with about 500 cars and drawing 40,000 people; as of this year's car show there are 6,000 registered cars and the event drew over 850,000 people to Reno.
