2013 Hot Rod Power Tour

THANK YOU GOODGUYS! I know the Goodguys have nothing to do with the Hot Rod (Magazine) Power Tour but it was my covering their Lone Star Nationals in Fort Worth and submitting it to Hot Rod Hot Line that gave me the very much needed “kick in the pants” to prep and submit images of the 2013 Hot Rod Power Tour also. My son and I decided to take a “road trip” in early June and follow the Power Tour on five of its scheduled seven stops starting in Dallas and heading back home after the Birmingham, AL stop. Stops in between were at Texarkana, Little Rock and Memphis. The Power tour continued on to Chattanooga, TN and finished up in Concord (Charlotte), NC. As always, the Hot Rod Power Tour begins the following year where it left off so the 2014 Power Tour starts in Concord (June 7) and ends up six days later in Wisconsin with stops in Knoxville, TN, Charleston, WV, Norwalk, OH, Crown Point, IN and Bettendorf, IA. Since we really enjoyed it, we’re planning on following it again next year which will include the initial 1060 mile trip to Charlotte and the 1250 mile trip back to Houston from Wisconsin. Early plan is following the old Route 66 as much as possible from Chicago to Oklahoma City on the long trip home. Included in the images below are 350 that were “lost” during my compact card to computer transfer. Luckily there are programs out there that you can download that recover lost images even on formatted cards. Best fifty bucks I’ve ever spent. Enjoy the photos.
