Memorial Day Car Show at Veterans Memorial Park
Tampa, FLSaturday, June 2, 2012
Chapter #787, Vietnam Veterans of America chose to show their appreciation with an annual car show they sponsor in conjunction with the Downshifters of Brooklyn, a highly regarded car club in the area. The Downshifters are heavily involved with support for the military all year long with their own shows and support for other shows. This show is a highlight of their year. They provided a food concession at this event and fed a considerable number of people.
The Veterans Memorial Park is quite an impressive location. In it, one will find many examples of military equipment plus their museum, the Rear Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr. Veterans Museum.
The assortment of cars was also impressive. Note the silver Ford custom and the two 1931 Bentleys plus the pristine red and white Oldsmobile convertible among others.
Included in the photos you will notice several examples of the military gear on exhibit in this park plus some activities at the food concession.
This is an annual event that is highly thought of in the Tampa area as evidenced by the number and quality of the cars on display.
